This holiday season, the Ottawa Senators swapped their helmets for Santa hats as they brought joy to young patients at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice, and Ronald McDonald House. Dan MacKenzie, the team’s Community Coordinator, expressed how important it is for the players to connect with kids facing tough challenges. "These visits remind us of what really matters during the holidays – family, laughter, and a bit of magic," he said. The atmosphere was filled with smiles as players chatted, posed for photos, and signed autographs, proving that even a tough NHL player can bring a spark of joy to those who need it the most.

In addition to hospital visits, the Senators also hosted the Melnyk Skate for Kids event at the Canadian Tire Centre. Nearly 100 kids in grades 4, 5, and 6 were treated to an exciting day on the ice, where they had the chance to skate alongside their favorite Senators players. It was a fun-filled event, filled with laughter and endless photo opportunities. As one kid exclaimed, "I never thought I’d get to skate with a real NHL player!" This experience marks a memorable moment for these young fans, making their holiday season a little brighter.

Meanwhile, on the ice, Senators center Shane Pinto has been working hard to get back into scoring form. After an intensive practice and a tough game against the Anaheim Ducks, Pinto relayed his determination to rev up his goal-scoring engine. "I've been putting in the work every day, and I can't wait to contribute to the team's success when it counts," he said. This level of dedication is what fans love most about their players and keeps them hoping for more holiday magic on the ice!
