After playing just one game for the USHL's Muskegon Lumberjacks at the tail end of the 2017.18 season, Sasson progressed offensively each of the next three seasons at the junior level, capped off by a point-per-game campaign (20-29-49 in 48 GP) with Waterloo in 2020.21. Prior to beginning his college career with Western Michigan, Sasson spent three full seasons in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Waterloo Black Hawks and Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Sasson, 22, recently concluded his sophomore college season with the Western Michigan University Broncos, recording 42 points (15-27-42) and 18 penalty minutes in 38 games.

The Vancouver Canucks were looking for a future third-line centre. They may have found one in Max Sasson. Find out more.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound centreman established career-highs with 22 points (9-13), 18 penalty minutes, and a plus-4 rating in 2021-22. The vast majority of NCAA free agents are AHL players.” He finished 13th in NCAA scoring and average 1.11 points per outing. He was never on their (Western Michigan’s) radar when he was a draft-eligible player. He was drawing a lot of interest from many NHL clubs, but the encouraging projection of where the Canucks are heading under new management, and especially head coach Rick Tocchet, was imperative in his signing decision. “We look forward to watching him develop at the professional level with our staff in Vancouver and Abbotsford.”

Canucks land college free agent prospect Max Sasson (Daily Hive)

The Canucks have landed another NCAA prospect. Free agent centre Max Sasson has signed a two-year, entry-level contract with Vancouver.

In order to be successful, you’ve got to be able to find players outside the first round in the NHL Entry Draft. “You’ve got to be open-minded and you’ve got to look for talent,” Allvin said in January 2022. We look forward to watching him develop at the professional level with our staff in Vancouver and Abbotsford.” “We are very pleased to have agreed to terms with Max today and we are excited to have him join Abbotsford in time for their playoff push,” said Canucks GM Patrik Allvin. “You’ve got to trust your scouting staff, the people that work for you. Prospects Danila Klimovich and Kirill Kudryavtsev are also Milstein clients.

Canucks sign college free agent centre Max Sasson (Vancouver Is Awesome)

The Vancouver Canucks have signed undrafted free agent Max Sasson to a two-year, entry-level contract after 42 points in 38 games for Western Michigan.

The team called upon Sasson to fill in, even though he's not the best singer in the world and he was going to be playing in the game. That is aptly demonstrated by the time he was called upon to fill in for the anthem singer ahead of a game for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders in the USHL. It often seems like Sasson is always in the right place at the right time." It's perhaps more likely that he spends next season in the AHL further developing his game, but the Canucks badly need centre depth, so he can still fill an important role. "He is coming off a very strong year with Western Michigan and has shown continual improvement in his game each of the last few seasons. That was good enough to tie for 14th in the nation in scoring.
