Shore has been playing some of his best hockey with the Oilers since giving up his No. 14 to defenceman Mattias Ekholm and switching to 19.
“Down the stretch and as we approach the playoffs, guys are going to have to check their egos and just do whatever they can, no matter how big or how small, to help the team,” Shore said. “We’re not focused on the individual results, you can’t focus on that too much, but they seem to be coming in the last week or so. “Not much has changed in my game, the puck is going in a little bit more and I’m getting a few bounces here and there,” Shore said. He had a brief three-game point streak picking up an assist in three straight games and has four assists in his past seven games heading into the contest against the Sharks. Shore did not get any form of compensation for the number, but the switch seems to have given him new life. 14 to defenceman Mattias Ekholm and switching to No.
