PRE-GAME REPORT: Oilers vs. Stars (NHL.com)

The Edmonton Oilers host the Central Division-leading Dallas Stars at Rogers Place on Wednesday night. You can watch the game on Sportsnet West or listen live ...

We treated today as a regeneration day to try and refill the energy reservoir so that we're ready to play against a really good team in the Dallas Stars tomorrow night." "It was emotional, but as soon as I got on the plane to get here and played the first game, I think from that moment I've just been fortunate," he added. I'm well aware of that and very appreciative of them finding me and putting me in the right spots, so very happy about that." I think we've risen to that occasion on numerous times, but we're going to have to do it against a really well coached group here in the Dallas Stars tonight." "For me, I am coming to team that's in a win now mode and has the pieces. I think we're at our best, and we're at the top of the league when it comes to breakout execution, but we're at our best when we're a five-man clean exit team," Woodcroft said. It's usually easy for the player, you're just focusing on the hockey part, but when you have a family and you have kids that you want to come up here, it takes a lt. "(Dallas) has got a lot of talent, so you want to play that simple game, make it tough for their D to go get pucks, and just kind of establish our game down there and build off the first five minutes." You make it too easy for teams at this point of the year, they're going to make you pay and there's no exception with this team," Nugent-Hopkins said. Cleaning up the defensive zone is always a point of emphasis for the Oilers and their coaching staff. Along with veterans Joe Pavelski, Tyler Seguin, and Ryan Suter -- the Stars have all the makings of a measuring stick matchup for an Oilers squad looking to be the best in the West. Robertson has been a revelation for the Stars since getting drafted in the second round (39th overall) in 2017.

Skinner is 5-1 SU in his last six games, but like Oettinger, has been supported by his offense as he owns a 3.01 GAA over that stretch and the Over is 4-2. Over the last 10 games, Dallas is 7-3 SU but sits in the bottom half of the league in GAA at 3.30. He was a Vezina candidate before the All-Star break, but has become porous over the last month-plus. But Over bettors get the No. The Stars might not have their best effort defensively thanks to a lengthy road trip, where they’ve already taken six of eight points. They are 8-0-1 to the Over across that stretch. But with the Stars going 8-0-1 to the Over in their last nine games, should we expect another Edmonton shootout? 1 offense in hockey could be more than the Stars can handle if this game turns into a shootout. NHL Odds, Preview, Prediction: Stars vs. Oilers (The Action Network)

Grant White breaks down Thursday's NHL game between the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers, including a betting prediction.

The Stars have been outplayed in two of their past three and in three of six while still managing wins in four of those outings. On average, the Oilers are up to 12.5 quality chances and 26.4 scoring opportunities across their past 14 games. The content on this page is for informational purposes only. We may be compensated for the links provided on this page. The Stars may be showing signs of slowing down, but the Oilers are trending in the opposite direction. Edmonton is a vastly superior team analytically and is due for a few more wins. This betting line doesn’t accurately reflect the Oilers’ chances against the Stars. In reconciling their current production and anticipated regression with their scheduling woes, wins could be hard to come by for Dallas over the next few games. Edmonton ranks second in the Western Conference in scoring and high-danger chances per game, ratings it has improved over the past few weeks. The Stars averaged 13.4 high-danger and 28.2 scoring chances per game through the first five games of the eight-game sample. Connor McDavid and company are surging and forcing opponents to keep pace with their top-ranked offense. Although the early part of that stretch is validated with solid underlying metrics, Dallas has been unable to match that production lately.

NHL Odds: Stars vs. Oilers prediction, pick, how to watch – 3/16/2023 (ClutchPoints)

Two of the top seven scoring teams in the NHL will face off in Canada on Thursday night. It's time to continue our NHL odds series with a Stars-Oilers ...

Some of the best in the league at putting the puck in the back of the net will take the ice in this one. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins also sits 11th in the NHL with 82 points and will be looking to get to the 100-point plateau before the season is over. The big reason Edmonton is not leading the division is the goaltending situation. His 129 points is one of only two players in the NHL that currently have at minimum 100 points. This is the best offense in the league, led by the top scorer in the league. Jason Robertson is leading the team in goals with 39 on the season, which is tied for 7th in the NHL. He is not only scoring goals but is the team leader in points with 85. Both of those marks are good for the top ten in the league currently. Dallas has shut down this amazing offense once this year but failed to do so on the second try. Jamie Benn has scored in four of his last five while scoring six goals in the past ten overall. Roope Hintz has nine goals in his last ten games, including a hat trick against Buffalo. Dallas is playing their second game in a row in Canada, after playing back-to-back games in Seattle.

Boston has surprisingly lost three of its last five in one of its slowest stretches of the season. Today’s featured game is between the Dallas Stars and the Edmonton Oilers.

HockeyBuzz.com - Sean Maloughney - G69: Oilers vs Stars - High ... (Hockeybuzz.com)

Will we see another high scoring game tonight as the Oilers host the Stars one last time this season? Edmonton is averaging just under 5 goals a game so far in ...

It's promising that he is out taking part in practice but the forward still appears to be dealing with something. Derek Ryan is 5th on the team in goal scoring with 12 goals. Foegele can play either the left or right side and has looked comfortable with either McDavid or Draisaitl. If Yamamoto continues to prove ineffective in the top six I would like to see Woodcroft elevate the forward. He doesn't have a shot on net in his last two games and no points in his past 5 despite playing right next to Connor McDavid or Draisaitl for the entire time. Since the beginning of March the Edmonton Oilers have scored 7 PP goals, tied for the 4th most in the NHL...
