[Statmuse.com.](http://statmuse.com)The Wild have a record of 2-3 over their last five visits to Canada Life Centre. He has a record of 10-6-0 against the Jets life time according to These go hand in hand but the Jets would go 0 for 6 on the power play and only scored two 5-on-5 goals.

Marc-Andre Fleury stops 46 shots as Jets lose to Minnesota Wild (Winnipeg Sun)

Rick Bowness called it one of the best games of the season for the Winnipeg Jets.

NOTES: Pierre-Luc Dubois will not be on the team’s charter when he takes off tomorrow for Florida. “He’ll figure it out,” Bowness said of his netminder. Putting up that many shots, that many Grade-As, you’re going to take that most nights.” But I’ll take that effort and the way we played against anybody all year.” On the shot clock, the team’s head coach would be right. Fleury steals the show as Wild take down Jets 4-2 (Globalnews.ca)

Marc-Andre Fleury turned aside 46 shots for the Wild as Winnipeg falls to 2-7-2 in their last 11 games.

Winnipeg managed to cut the lead to one again with 2:45 to go in the period. As the Jets tried to clear the puck out of their own end, they turned it over, leading to a breakaway for Frederick Gaudreau. It was Stanley’s first goal of the season and third in 110 career regular season games. “We got to win some games on the road, but the most important thing is to keep the effort, and play like we did tonight.” Nate Schmidt sent a lazy wrister in the direction of the net, and it fluttered right to Niederreiter, who caught it, dropped it and fired it past Fleury all in one motion. Winnipeg will now head on the road for a three-game trip that begins Saturday in Florida against the Panthers. The puck drops from Sunrise just after 6 p.m. A power play late in the first also proved fruitless. Adam Lowry found David Gustafsson cutting to the net but the Swede was denied by Fleury. The Jets power play continues to do them no favours. “One of the best games we’ve played all year,” said Jets head coach Rick Bowness. Putting up that many shots, that many grade-A’s, you’re going to take that most nights.”

Winnipeg's nightly dependence on Hellebuyck is staggering (TSN)

While the Winnipeg Jets are reeling, they're still a good bet to reach the playoffs, but that's largely due to their nightly dependence on Connor Hellebuyck ...

The bad news is if it can’t dig out of this rut, I fear Winnipeg’s front office may have to seriously reevaluate the roster in what could be their first busy off-season in a long, long time. The current version of this team is entirely built off the back of Hellebuyck. Consider a distribution of Hellebuyck’s performance in games where the Jets emerged victorious versus games they lost in regulation or overtime. And if their current play is indicative of how the rest of the season may go, Winnipeg could be in for quite the battle. One of the things I keep circling back to with Winnipeg is how reliant they are on goaltending. Winnipeg wins games when Connor Hellebuyck erases a bunch of goals.

What is going on with the Winnipeg Jets and why are they sliding? (Jets White Out)

The Winnipeg Jets have barely been above .500 in their last 32 games. Why is that? A look at how shooting percentage impacts winning.

More importantly, they are 13-3 in Phase 2 when their shooting percentage is over 10% (which is the league average). In the first 30 games the Jets registered 405 HDC’s and in their last 30 games – 16 fewer (389). In the last 32 games, the Jets are 15-15-2 (Phase 2”). Recently for the Jets, it has been “you miss most of the shots you take”. Their shot totals have remained somewhat consistent throughout this year, and therefore not contributing significantly to the goal differential between Phase 1 and Phase 2. Wayne Gretzky famously said: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”. For context, the Jets are 32-3-1 when scoring 3 or more goals this season. In Phase 1, the Jets’ shooting percentage was 10.8%. In the first 30 games of the 2022-23 season, the Jets’ record was 20-9-1 (“Phase 1”). Let’s assume the Jets average 30 shots a game over 82 games. It is not news that the Winnipeg Jets have struggled as of late. The Winnipeg Jets have traditionally thrived on excellent goaltending and sharpshooting.

And certainly part of the issue is, you see a game like last night (on Wednesday evening against the Wild), and you’re thinking, ‘OK, this Jets team, their process is there.’ They were peppering the Wild and they were in a spot where they were absolutely buzzing. They have four games in hand on the Jets and are only six points back. Now you look at the West and you go, you’re only four points clear of the Calgary Flames, and points percentage-wise, the Nashville Predators are right there behind you.

SNAPSHOTS: Jets find heart, lose hands, Hellebuyck (Winnipeg Sun)

Maybe I jumped the gun on the Winnipeg Jets needing a heart transplant.

“A gritty, playoff-style of hockey.” Then it’s off to Carolina, Tuesday. We haven’t lost that eighth spot right now so we have to fight to keep it.” “Those other teams still have to win games to catch us,” Bowness said after the Minnesota loss. We’re going to keep pushing. “We’re going to stick with it. We’re giving up a goal like that and we’re losing by one goal.” It was so bad, their coach didn’t even know what to tell them after the game. Article content The last couple games have been a hell of a lot better, so we’ve got to keep building.” “Right now, that’s what’s happening. “There’s a lot of fight,” Connor said.
