How I enjoy it and I really do. “I still think it’s going to happen, and even better when it happens at the right time, the right place, and the right circumstances. It’s the way who I am. The way how I live my life. I know for sure when it happens, it’s going to be super huge for female MMA. “Demetrious Johnson, he is an amazing fighter, and when I think about a complete fighter, a MMA fighter, I know his name is No. If I will stay champion for a long time, the numbers will come by themselves.” 1, what I care, is what I think, what is important to me. I just want to stay champion for a long time, defend my belt, and never think about numbers. “This is martial arts and we’re speaking about the top level of competition,” Shevchenko said. The fight is the fight, but really what’s important is how you deal with all this pressure.” It’s 11, it’s how many more years I have to fight?” Shevchenko said.

UFC 285 Odds & Picks for Valentina Shevchenko vs. Alexa Grasso ... (The Action Network)

Dan Tom breaks down Saturday's co-main event between champion Valentina Shevchenko and Alexa Grasso at UFC 285 (T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas).

The content on this page is for informational purposes only. Whether Shevchenko is unloading knees or hitting slick trips and tosses, the sitting flyweight champion is a multi-dimensional threat. We may be compensated for the links provided on this page. Although Grasso has yet to be stopped by strikes as a pro, she’s still never faced a striker of Shevchenko’s size and caliber. Action Network makes no representation or warranty as to the accuracy of the information given or the outcome of any game or event. I also believe that Shevchenko – based on the takedown and guard passing success from previous opponents – will be able to get to Grasso into her favored finishing the position of the crucifix. For my money, I went ahead and took a couple of small fliers on Shevchenko by TKO/KO (+200) and for her to win in Round 2 (+500). 8/9/1993 3/7/1988 66″ 125 lbs. 5’5″

Given Shevchenko’s status as a longtime champion, it would be difficult not to see an immediate rematch take place should Grasso pull off the upset. Now 29 years-old, Grasso finds herself in her first UFC title fight at a crucial time for the promotion. Her early career inside the Octagon would see her go through the growing pains of a young fighter as she alternated wins and losses in her first six UFC bouts. In her most recent bout last October, Grasso headlined her first UFC card and bested another surging contender in Viviane Araujo in a five round contest. Training out of Logo Gym in Guadalajara under the tutelage of her uncle, Grasso was considered one of the top prospects in the sport when she entered the UFC as a fresh faced 23 year-old who had already been performing well under the Invicta banner for two years and had a perfect 9-0 record. “Bullet” has defended the UFC flyweight title seven times and is widely considered to be the most technically skilled all-around fighters (male or female) in the world today.

Grasso won the UFC women's flyweight title by tapping out titleholder Shevcheko in the fourth round after being down on the scorecards in the fight.

Shevchenko was in cruise control come the fourth round by the tides suddenly turned when she gave up her back after throwing a spinning kick. Fans were getting frustrated with the lack of action as Shevchenko took Grasso down again the third round but didn't land many strikes from the top position. Grasso showed she was no slouch on the feet by snapping the head back of Shevchenko with some great jabs early on.
