But he took the puck hard to the net and fired in a wrister to ignite Edmonton’s second period charge. He got a B-grade scoring chance shot on net early in the game, Edmonton’s first sign of life. His sloppy failed clearance on the PK typified the Oil’s sloppy failed first period; his miscue directly led to another penalty in the Oil’s zone.

Early success in the first period for Columbus fired up the Oilers to make a comeback later in the game.
