Vando is a plus-defender and a board-crasher, maybe the closest thing to "Dennis Rodman lite" we have in this iteration of the NBA. This Looney prop pushes our SGP from -106 as a two-legger to +300 as a three-legger, and we think it has the best chances of any plus-odds prop in this contest to hit. Everyone on the Warriors has a role, and Looney arguably knows and plays his as well as any role player on Steve Kerr's squad. With LeBron and AD's sky-high offensive usage — and D-Lo, Beasley, and Hachimura taking most of the remaining main-rotational shots — Vando will not see many plays drawn up for him by Darvin Ham. the Lakers), and he's hauled in 11-plus in four of Golden State's past five. The big man has logged double-doubles in six of L.A.'s past seven games, including a 13-point, 16-rebound performance in the Lakers' 109-103 win over the Warriors on Feb. That starts with a big W over the division-rival Warriors, which we're cautiously listing as our best bet of the parlay by buying points and whittling down the spread from -6 to -1.5. The Warriors allowed a whopping 130 points per game over their past two contests, and their scoring has been inconsistent with Jordan Poole taking on a heavier role. While we do like Kevon Looney to hold his own on the boards this evening, he won't be able to keep Davis from pulling down at least 10. With Curry still sidelined for the defending champs, the Lakers have no excuses this evening. Practically every game has increased meaning from here on out, including tonight's showdown between LeBron James and the Lakers and the defending-champion Warriors at Crypto.com Arena. The new-look Lakers featuring D’Angelo Russell eked out a 109-103 win the last time these two met, and should be equipped to pick up another victory on their home court. Additionally, 22 of the Warriors’ 29 road games have finished over, likely a result of their struggling scoring defense. After the Warriors fell to the Lakers in their first game after the All-Star break, NBA Twitter chimed in with different reactions.
Warriors playing like this after championship just shows you that everything in life is temporary. Warriors are a cumulative -29 in third quarters this season. Same story: they're overhelping in the paint due to no rim protection, and, on the kickout, are forced to cover a long distance to try and contest the 3pt shot but no longer have the bigger forwards to contest. They're now 29-30 on the season — tied for ninth in the West. This time to the Lakers by 13 points. Warriors are more concerned about defending the paint. Held opponents to 33.9 percent from 3 in regular season, tied with Boston and Miami for best in the league. Tied for third fewest road wins in the NBA. LeBron had his lowest-scoring game (13 points) since Nov. Malik Beasley had 25 points (seven 3s). Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Thursday night. Grading Klay Thompson, Jordan Poole, Draymond Green, and the rest of the Golden State Warriors in the team's 124-111 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
I’ve criticized Moody in the past for being too passive, but lately he’s been showing a lot more aggression. But he’s starting to drive a lot more, and good things are happening when he does. But four assists is pretty impressive, and he displayed a lot of energy and hustle trying to make the little plays. As has been the case lately, PBJ showed enough in those minutes to make you pretty darn excited about his future. He never really was a difference maker, save for a blistering stretch towards the end of the second quarter, where he scored 13 of his 16 points. Poole was trying exceptionally hard all game long to be an offensive difference maker, to the point that it was hurting the team at times. His 27 minutes netted him no assists and just a pair of rebounds. Not a very memorable game for Klay. A rather ho-hum game for Green on offense, though his defense was on point. Kuminga has been playing good basketball lately, but I’m still not sure what is going into the decision to occasionally start him over Kevon Looney. As always, grades are based on my expectations, with a “B” grade representing the average performance for a player.
