Stephen A. Smith rips Aaron Rodgers' affinity for headlines (Awful Announcing)

Aaron Rodgers loves football, but maybe not as much as he loves seeing his name attached to some of the bizarre headlines.

I have no interest in seeing Aaron Rodgers on The Pat McAfee Show, because Aaron Rodgers just keeps talking, talking, talking, instead of winning, winning, winning. But to Smith’s point, that 2020 season with McAfee was much less tumultuous for Rodgers, as compared to the weekly headlines he’s created during his last two years on the show. “I never watch Pat McAfee with Aaron Rodgers,” Smith continued. Rodgers might not be great at building a rapport with his teammates, but he’s great at creating headlines via The Pat McAfee Show. I am not accusing the man of going out on the football field and not trying to win, but…there are nuggets of intel that we have witnessed and received over the years that shows, that there’s more that Aaron Rodgers could have done to facilitate winning.” After avoiding the limelight during his first 15 years in the NFL, Rodgers has fully embraced his platform on The Pat McAfee Show, sparking controversy and wild headlines on every episode to the point that it has Stephen A.

Decision Time for Aaron Rodgers (Gang Green Nation)

Aaron Rodgers has resurfaced from his darkness retreat, but as of Friday morning, we remain in the dark in relation to his intention.

But I know that some fans have everything crossed that he’ll be making the jump to NY. Rodgers is on the books for nearly $60 million in 2023. Ever since this drama began, the most likely scenario was that he would return to Green Bay in 2023 if he decided to continue playing.

Aaron Rodgers still top dog in NFL as he places No 1 in league's ... (Daily Express)

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers penned a massive £126million extension, which helped land him top spot in 2023's list.

Despite the recent show of commitment, the 10-time Pro Bowler’s future is very much up in the air after a disappointing campaign last time out. Thanks to the mammoth extension he signed in 2020, Mahomes will earn just over £50million in 2017 in a deal which runs until 2031. The Cleveland Brown’s decision to lock Watson into a fully guaranteed £193million five-year contract last year looks more baffling with every minute. The 29-year-old enjoyed his best campaign in 2021 but last season’s finish makes next term a make-or-break for the 2016 draft pick. The former Detroit Lion threw 4,900 yards and 41 touchdowns that season which earned a £134million four-year extension. The 31-year-old pocketed £33.9million in earnings in 2022 so expect to see him in the top-ten list when the action gets underway next term. Carr on the other hand, has no such concerns having parted ways with the former Oakland franchise. Four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers tops the earnings list ahead of the 2023 season with an average salary of £42.1million thanks to his three-year contract extension in 2022. With two Super Bowls in the bag already, the 27-year-old is laying down a marker to be considered as one of the sport’s all-time best when it’s all said and done. The reigning regular season and Super Bowl MVP manages to nip into the top five of the list with his £38million take home. Allen became one of the NFL’s highest-earners when he penned a £125million extension with the Buffalo Bills in 2021. The exclusive tag would trigger a one-year extension with the Ravens for the 2019 MVP and would land him a projected purse of £38.8million.
