Callander is putting on a host of events to help residents celebrate Family Day in style.

The Local Journalism Initiative is funded by the Government of Canada. There will also be a free movie starting at 1 p.m., and if you donate to the food bank, they will return the favour with some popcorn. The last of the batter hits the griddle just before 10:30 a.m.

Feb. 20 marks Family Day in British Columbia and plenty of celebratory activities will be taking place for those living in or nearby Surrey to partake in.

On Feb. [started in 2013](https://vancouversun.com/news/metro/bcs-first-family-day-holiday), originally taking place on the second Monday of February. In Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Manitoba the holiday is called Islander Day, Heritage Day, and Louis Riel Day respectively. [Historic Stewart Farm](https://www.surrey.ca/news-events/events/family-day-farm) will also be hosting free activities from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm on Family Day. to 4:00 pm. These activities will take place from 1:00 pm.

20, lace up the skates to spend time at the arena for either a family day skate, stick and puck hockey or both. Princeton curlers will be there to lead you through the sport.
