With Woll being confirmed this morning, we could see some handle move to the Over and move this to -115 for the Over 6.5. The Leafs’ offense can push this game, but with the goalie matchup, we could easily see a tilt like last Saturday, where the Leafs' dominate at times but also snooze for long stretches. the Leafs this season, winning as a +305 home dog in January and a +215 home dog in October. He wasn’t great last Saturday in his only start of the year, finishing with minus-1.67 goals saved above expected while still seeing 44 shots. Looking at the worst teams in hockey: Chicago, Columbus, Anaheim, Montreal, Arizona, Vancouver, and San Jose, Toronto is a combined 5-7 SU vs. the Blue Jackets — where he gave up four goals on 40 shots — the Leafs are nowhere near a layup tonight at this price. Betting the Leafs means paying taxes, and vs. The Habs have won four of the last five meetings and both games this year at home. Montreal has also scored 16 goals in four games since the All-Star break. The Leafs became a better team overnight by trading for former Conn Smythe winner Ryan O’Reilly and soon-to-be fan favorite Noel Acciari. Following the trade acquisitions of Ryan O’Reilly and Noel Acciari, it’s a great day to be a Toronto Maple Leaf fan.

Just overall, in terms of an energy perspective, any time you make those types of additions, it sends a strong message and gets the group energized and excited. He is on the body a lot. He is so strong on faceoffs. He is an overall complete player. I think it is great for the organization. He is a hard guy to play against as well. A lot of us were Making additions like this is management’s way of saying they feel the same way. Honestly, look at the Leafs and how they have played against the Habs. Furthermore, the Leafs have covered this spread (2.5) twice over 10 games at home against the Canadiens. The Maple Leafs have had issues laying hits and defending consistently. But for some reason, they perk up when they play against the Maple Leafs and has showcased it twice this season. The Habs are 7-3 in the past 10 games against the Leafs. John Woll makes the start for the Leafs and will play behind a defense that ranks seventh in goals allowed. Thus, it is his job to backstop a defense that ranks 28th in goals allowed and 29th on the penalty kill. The Canadiens are not a good team. Additionally, the Leafs are 6-3-1 over their past 10 games. However, they are 4-6 over the past 10 games in Toronto. Initially, they had a chance to win as they entered the third period embroiled in a 2-2 tie. The Leafs are 21-6-4 at the Scotiabank Arena.

As for the Habs, they’re definitely not looking to win a playoffs series this season since they’ll be no Spring hockey in Montreal, but they’ll like to win the draft lottery though. Most everything has gone wrong for the Blues this season and it’s a lot easier to play well on a contending team than on one that in the process of crashing in the standings. The Leafs are currently second in the Atlantic division with 74 points, one in front of the Lightning and it looks like they’ll have to play the Tampa Bay team early in the playoffs yet again.
