“We want to play the way we've talked about, the level that we've expected of ourselves and usually when we're doing that, we're playing well. “That’s (what) our focus is on, is the guys that we have, the team we have, the position we’re in and what we have to do to keep getting better and raise our team game to another level, which is going to be necessary now and until the end of the season and into the playoffs. They have to live with the decisions that have to be made.” We definitely got away from that there in the last five, six games before the break.” This is going to be their third game. Right now, we’re happy with where we are, and we know we have to take our game to another level,” said Bowness. “Where we can decide how it goes is our intensity level, our mindset in that sense, keeping it simple at times. Some of these guys are going to hear news they aren't going to want to hear. but they have to be made. Those are tough conversations, but they have to be made. Someday, when we're healthy — completely healthy — someone is going to have to leave. The dealing isn’t done, but the Jets are at the final table. It is clear the Jets have no intent on making Heinola’s development with the club a priority, and a late first-rounder is great – but far from a guarantee. Game Recap: Winnipeg Jets vs. Chicago Blackhawks (Arctic Ice Hockey)

The Jets played 1 period of good hockey, and it was enough!

- The top-6 was a bit lackluster. Winnipeg looked thoroughly in control for the remainder of the period, reminding Chicago of why the Jets had outscored them something like 14-3 coming into the evening. After the fiery second period, you’d hope the Jets would close out the game cleanly. For the first 20 minutes of the game, you’d be forgiven for wondering if Winnipeg knew the game had begun. A great Morrissey backhand goal and a long stretch of power play time shortly after had the Jets rolling through Chicago. An easy victory against the [Chicago Blackhawks](https://www.secondcityhockey.com) would be the perfect way to resume the season.

"We bent a little bit too much and when you bend a little bit too much like that you need big saves and he certainly did that for us tonight," Bowness said. "They might have got a little bit of momentum (off their goal) but I don't think we took the foot off the gas at all," said Hellebuyck. "We get out of that first period and, again, we're not happy with how we finished the period, so it was huge to get that goal to give us a boost and get us going again," said head coach Rick Bowness. It wasn't his busiest period of the night, but it certainly seemed like the most important. Both teams have to do it and you can't really complain too much. "We had some really grade-A looks, their goalie made a couple of really, really good saves," said Wheeler. Scheifele made it 3-0 at 12:09, as he finished a three-way passing play that started with Nikolaj Ehlers finding Wheeler with a cross-ice pass from the left wing to the right. Morrissey factored in on the second goal of the night as well, setting up Kyle Connor for a one-timer that Wheeler tipped past Mrazek to make it 2-0. You give him the puck there." "The last two days of practice we had a lot of life in practice so you could sense we would come out with some good jump tonight," said Blake Wheeler, who led the way with two goals and an assist. "Mo steps up again and makes the big play. "They really brought it tonight.
