We go over some of the best betting options for Thursday's matchup between the Chicago Bulls and Brooklyn Nets.
While the offensive flow could take a bit for the chemistry to gel, Brooklyn should be better defensively with the addition of Dorian Finney-Smith, who should look to make a good first impression in his first game with the new-look Nets. Chicago ended a three-game winning streak on Tuesday night but will get back on the winning track on Thursday night. The over/under is set at 227.5. The Nets traded away Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant this week, while Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith will make their Brooklyn debut. The Nets will be without Seth Curry while Yuta Watanabe and Day’Ron Sharpe both listed as questionable. The game will get started at 7:30 p.m.
Andrew O'Connor-Watts previews Thursday's NBA game between the Chicago Bulls and the Brooklyn Nets, including a betting prediction.
I like the under down to 228.5 if no deals are made, but make sure to follow me in the Action Network app and I’ll put in my under pick before tip-off if no moves are made. The content on this page is for informational purposes only. We may be compensated for the links provided on this page. The Nets could be making moves to bring in players, which means we don’t know who could on their way out. Despite Thomas’ admirable scoring success, the Nets have struggled to win games without Kyrie Irving and Durant, but have outperformed the betting market. Then, I’ll look to bet the Nets at +10 or better. Without DeRozan, the Bulls struggle offensively and that was fully evident on Tuesday in Chicago’s 89-104 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. But in four games without DeRozan, their Offensive Rating has broken 100 just once — a 132-118 win over the Warriors as Golden State was in the midst of a five-game road trip. Chicago has played well in its past 10 games (6-4 straight up and against the I think a trade would probably mean an under play is safer than anything else, but I’ll wait until closer to tipoff before placing any bets. Get up-to-the-minute [NBA odds](https://www.actionnetwork.com/nba/odds)here. DeRozan is questionable with right hip soreness, but his status is key if we are going to handicap a side.

I’m liking the Bulls moneyline. If Thomas continues to cook, the Nets can stay afloat until Durant is back. And even with a 47-piece Tuesday, Brooklyn still couldn’t beat the Phoenix Suns. The former LSU standout has dropped 40+ points in three straight appearances, becoming the youngest player in NBA history to do so. Joe Tsai managed to get a pair of solid players in return from the Dallas Mavericks and both are expected to suit up Thursday. The visitors completely took their foot off the gas pedal after a very solid third quarter. Tuesday was the end of a three-game winning streak though, with the Grizzlies dominating the Bulls, especially down low. The squad is 17th in PPG and 19th in offensive rating. Thursday evening will see the Chicago Bulls (26-28, 10-17) head to the Barclays Center for an Eastern Conference affair with the Kevin Durant-less Brooklyn Nets (32-22, 16-10 home). Consistency has been a major issue for the Bulls in 2022-23, especially offensively. Brooklyn meanwhile has lost back-to-back contests, despite Cam Thomas balling out at a ridiculous level. The tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET.

Brooklyn was led by the 25 of newly acquired Spencer Dinwiddie and the 20 of Cam Thomas, who continues to score in bunches. But with the way they are playing now, they look like a team whose ceiling is the first round and that’s it. The Bulls finished with just 15 attempts on 42 made baskets and narrowly lost the rebounding battle 49-46. By the time there was five minutes in the game, it was a double digit deficit for Chicago. By the time the final buzzer ended, it finished with a score 116-105 Brooklyn as the Bulls lost their second straight on the road.
