Luka Doncic cheers as 'amazing' Kyrie Irving shines on Dallas ... (The Guardian)

Kyrie Irving came out charging in his Dallas debut, keying a big run to open the game and sparking his new teammates in front of a cheering Luka Doncic.

We just tried to understand each other a lot better and grow as human beings, grow as brothers. Irving had four rebounds and five assists in 37 minutes of what amounted to a dress rehearsal before Doncic returns to give the Mavs a powerhouse backcourt. There was still a level of uncertainty, but we just cared about seeing each other be places that we can thrive – whether that be together, whether that be apart. He was part of a 13-0 spurt early in the game, scoring eight points on a jumper and back-to-back three-pointers. “The comfort level he feels with us, you could see it in the game. It’s the first time I ever got traded in the middle of the season, so it was new for me, but I’m excited that I’m here.”

Clippers vs. Mavericks Recap: A Spiritless Effort • 213hoops.com (213 Hoops)

The Clippers fell at home 110-104 to the Kyrie Irving-led Dallas Mavericks in a game they never led. Keep reading for a brief recap of the game. RECAP.

Whatever the Clippers do, they’re going to have some ground to make up considering other teams in the West have And what a sad way for it to end. Neither cracked my list for the Top 5 performers of this game, and for the Clippers, that’ll always be a problem. Meanwhile, Leonard essentially showed up for one quarter of this game and finished with only 18 points on 12 total shots in the game. Much like what we’ve seen recently, neither Paul George nor Kawhi Leonard was able to put points on the board during the fourth when the Clippers needed to stay in the game (lots of open shots by role players were missed, too), Ty Lue opted to remove Ivica Zubac from the floor to go small, and as always against Dallas, double-teams on the ball and slow rotations out of them allowed the Mavericks to capitalize from deep and put the nail in the coffin. Keep reading for a brief recap of the game.
