The Alert Ready website that relayed information about the suspects says there are no active alerts. It's unclear if it has been lifted for all of Lanark County. Around 2 p.m., OPP said the emergency alert had been lifted "in the Carleton Place - Sharbot Lake area" and one male was in custody, but he's not one of the two suspects named in the alert. "An intensive search of the area, involving OPP Aviation, Emergency Response team, Canine and Lanark OPP officers began after reports of armed individuals in the area," police said in a news release. The mayor of Carleton Place in Lanark County said around 12:15 p.m. Meanwhile, an emergency alert for the Carleton Place-Sharbot Lake area has been lifted, but it's not clear what that means for the rest of Lanark County.

Earlier in the day, the OPP told residents in Carleton Place to lock their windows and doors as there is a heavy police presence in the area. The OPP is asking people to lock their doors and windows and to notify police of any suspicious people.
