John Wall's Reported Trade Back to Rockets Trolled by NBA Twitter ... (Bleacher Report)

John Wall is heading back to the Houston Rockets, where he spent much of the 2021-22 season in purgatory. The Los Angeles Clippers sent him back to Houston ...

During his lone season on the court for Houston, he averaged 20.6 points, 6.9 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 40 games while shooting 40.4 percent from the floor and 31.7 percent from deep. When no trade came to fruition, the two sides agreed to a contract buyout this past offseason, making him a free agent. Wall was one of the best point guards in the NBA during his nine seasons with the Washington Wizards from 2010-11 through 2018-19, earning five All-Star selections. The 32-year-old appeared in 34 games for the Clippers this season, playing mostly off the bench, as Terance Mann and Reggie Jackson were splitting time as the starting point guard. The second year of the deal is a team option for 2023-24. Wall signed a two-year, $13.3 million contract with the Clippers in July 2022.

NBA buyout market: Russell Westbrook, John Wall headline best ... (Sporting News)

This year's deadline was headlined by splashy moves made by the Lakers, Mavericks and Suns, who, with the acquisition of Kevin Durant, are now a favorite to win ...

[Per Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel](https://twitter.com/khobi_price/status/1623767769677275136?s=20&t=2neECAJO2bYNaXs23cHcXQ), it is unlikely that Beverley will play for the Magic. Last offseason, Wall and the Rockets reached a buyout agreement in which he accepted $40.9 million of his $47.4 million salary for the 2022-23 season in order to leave Houston. [Charania reported](https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1623763455445544960?s=20&t=7oTC9zL8kbihctb4wPqcXw) the news of the trade sending Beverley to the Magic. [According to Kelly Iko of The Athletic](https://twitter.com/KellyIko/status/1623778120808423424?s=20&t=9Gi8eOb_MamI1r6u76YG3w), the Rockets plan to waive Wall. [Michael Scotto of HoopsHype](https://twitter.com/MikeAScotto/status/1623793936606060544?s=20&t=Se8QVkShxuhYg41zSTzElw), Ross is a buyout candidate to be aware of. [Wall was sent to the Rockets](https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1623762184009396225?s=20&t=9Gi8eOb_MamI1r6u76YG3w) as part of a three-team deal involving the Clippers and Grizzlies. Just last season, Barton was a full-time starter for a Nuggets team that made the playoffs. Ross is averaging 8.0 points and shooting 38.1 percent from 3-point range this season and could bring a scoring punch to a team in need of offense. While the 32-year-old has posted solid averages of 11.4 points and 5.2 assists per game this year, it hasn't been the cleanest of fits for him in LA. An early-season move to the bench has done wonders for Westbrook, who is averaging 16.2 points, 7.7 assists and 6.1 rebounds in a reserve role. Due to an abdominal injury, Wall hasn't suited up for the Clippers since Jan. As the dust settles, plenty of contenders will shift their focus to the buyout market, where historically, teams have made key improvements by adding veterans capable of contributing.
