Flames vs Rangers Odds, Picks, and Predictions Tonight: Rangers ... (Covers.com)

NHL odds, picks, and predictions for the Calgary Flames at New York Rangers on February 6. NHL betting best bet and free pick analysis.

New York’s offense was looking good going into the All-Star break, and I expect the Rangers to pick up right where they left off. The Rangers enter this game averaging 3.16 goals per contest, and the Flames are right behind them while scoring 3.12 per game. If the Flames are going to make the playoffs, they need those two to step it up a bit. I'm not a fan of the 5.5 totals, especially with the high scoring in today’s NHL. He's more than capable of leading the Rangers to a win on Monday. Fox and Panarin are returning from the All-Star break feeling great about themselves, and they'll surely impact this game a lot. Neither squad is exceeding expectations, but the Flames and Rangers aren't really disappointing either. He's certainly played up to the part lately, and getting them at a pick 'em is a great price. Halak endured a rough start to the season, but he's been incredible in recent starts and now enters this game with a 6-6-1 record, a .908 save percentage, and a 2.56 goals-against average. The Calgary Flames aren’t in as good of a position. But the Flames have won three of their last four road games, so being away from home doesn’t necessarily rattle them. The Flames weren’t looking too shabby either, winning three out of their last four contests.

NHL Odds, Preview, Prediction: Flames vs. Rangers (February 6) (The Action Network)

Nicholas Martin breaks down Monday's NHL game between the Calgary Flames and New York Rangers.

At worst with Halak in goal, the Flames should find away to make it a close contest, and Calgary would be my lean as a side. Coming out of the All-Star break is not a fun time to post bigger stakes since results can seemingly be a little more erratic, particularly in teams’ first game back. Action Network makes no representation or warranty as to the accuracy of the information given or the outcome of any game or event. That notion in combination with the idea that this should be a closely fought contest, makes my favorite play backing the game to go to overtime at +325. New York has been bringing far more consistent well-rounded play in all areas for over a month, and the Rangers are tremendous at finding a way to hang around games and collect points. Get up-to-the-minute [NHL Odds](https://www.actionnetwork.com/nhl/odds)here. In the month of January, the Rangers played to a 51.1 xGF% across all strengths. The Flames were priced as slight underdogs on the road at +105, but the announcement of a start for Rangers backup Jaroslav Halak has swung Calgary’s A 4-9 record in 3-on-3 and shootout has also really affected Calgary’s record on paper, and it’s another valid argument that the Flames are slightly better than most may expect. Calgary sits just out of the final wild-card spot in the West on points %, which is a clear comment on how bad this team has been, especially evaluating how weak the Western Conference is.

While the club is middle-of-the-pack with respect to offence, defensively the Rangers are stellar. One that comes to mind is [Jonathan Huberdeau](https://news.sportsinteraction.com/nhl/player/jonathan-huberdeau-4372), who hasn’t put up nearly the numbers he did last year in Miami, which was the very reason the club traded for him. 27 when the Las Vegas Golden Knights put up as good a fight as they could have, but backup netminder Not only is the league leaving its All-Star break weekend, but Darryl Sutter’s ensemble hasn’t stepped onto the ice for a game since Friday before last when they burned the Kraken in Seattle by the score of 5-2. Speaking of healthy teams, the Rangers are feeling pretty good right now as well, not to mention playing better than Monday’s visitors. Calgary sits in ninth place in the West, tied on points with the Colorado Avalanche and one point behind the seventh-ranked Minnesota Wild. Fair warning to betters: just as Calgary plays with relative comfort away from the Saddledome, so too do the Rangers underperform at the Garden. Furthermore, Calgary has New York’s number, earning full spoils five consecutive times in games that go back even before the pandemic pause. The 10-day layoff was an opportunity to assess their seasons and allow wounds to nurse themselves. Neither club has stepped on the ice for a competitive match since Friday, Jan.

Postgame takeaways: Momentum swings galore in a wildly ... (The Journal News / Lohud.com)

In a wild game that saw them hold three separate leads, two goals from Filip Chytil and an OT goal from Alexis Lafrenière gave the Rangers the win.

"He had a breakout last year in the second half of the season and through the playoffs. It appeared to be an ongoing process for much of Monday's contest, but they connected when the team needed it most. "The biggest thing for me personally is that I see that hard work and what I put in pays off," he said. "It was heading in that direction," he said. The Flames seized it back with the tying − and controversial − goal from Andrew Mangiapane. I'm going to do the same things again and I'm not going to change anything." "I have earn the hat trick," he said. "That's the only thing that I have in my head and what I'm thinking about. "It wasn't a great hockey game," head coach Gerard Gallant said, referring to some of the sloppy play. "Laffy was the first who heard that," Chytil said with a smile. For the first time in his five-year career, chants of "Chy-til! But he didn't allow himself to bask in it for long.
