That includes the flag football game between some of the NFL's best players, but Sunday's action will also feature a handful of skills challenges. For example: Veterans have been known to secretly bill massive bar tabs and restaurant charges to the hotel rooms of younger Pro Bowlers. Hill: Raiders' Jacobs offers honest, harsh Pro Bowl critique (Las Vegas Review-Journal)

Raiders running back Josh Jacobs isn't a fan of Pro Bowl week — “This (expletive) is stupid,” he said — but it's not going away any time soon.

New Orleans linebacker Demario Davis thought he had won a round for the NFC defense by eliminating Saquon Barkley only to have his celebration cut short. The players do need to have a bigger voice, though. “I want to compete at something I’m a little better at because dodgeball is not my main sport, so it was kind of a struggle,” Crosby said. “I don’t even know if I can play in this game,” he said. So while Jacobs suggested the league simply reward players who make the Pro Bowl with a weeklong paid vacation, the NFL isn’t going to give up a weekend of programming. While cynics and curmudgeons have complained about the Pro Bowl from the press box and through their columns for years, fans watch it. “They need to figure out a way to make this make sense, because I don’t enjoy this,” Jacobs said. There’s no benefit to putting their bodies through the extra wear and tear of a full-contact football game during a week that is supposed to be a reward for a great season. But it is important to note that it was done in response, at least in part, to the continuous mockery of the old Pro Bowl format, when players would often exert minimal effort, with good reason. He said while the event is billed as a rewarding getaway for excellence at their craft, the players’ daily obligations make it anything but a vacation. The other two are happening. Only one of those things is made up, by the way.

The NFL's biggest stars converge on Las Vegas for the new-look Pro Bowl as we get our last taste of football before Super Bowl Sunday next weekend.

The Pro Bowl is an exhibition where the best players from around the league get to showoff and show out, but the game was in need of a serious make over after the embarrassment that took place last year. Hello everyone and welcome to Las Vegas where many of the top stars will be on display for the last time this season. Proud day for the Diggs family who see Trevon and Stefon going toe to toe in the Pro Bowl. The attention might be on the players and this new flag football format, but for me the stars of today are going to be Peyton Manning and Eli Manning. No one wanted to play, and no one wanted to tackle. The NFC takes the cake from Allegiant Stadium with a comeback with in the final of a three game series. Baker had a beat on the Carr throw and stepped infront of Chase to make the pick!! In the end it was the NFC who went into the final game down 21-15 and that’s how the scoreboard looked to begin that game. There was the Gridiron Gauntlet and the Move the Chains contests which brought an extra shot of life to the stadium in-between each of the games. There were touchdowns and defense, and passion and even a few hits in the debut flag football Pro Bowl matches. The AFC came into Sunday up 12-6 after the led up events to the flag football portion of the weekned. The NFC won the week long competition with a comeback victory in the third of three flag football games, but it was the league that were the real winners when everything was said and done in Vegas.
