The Town of South Bruce Peninsula will be hosting its annual Wiarton Willie Festival on Saturday at Bluewater Park. Hundreds of people were on hand outside the Wiarton Arena for Willie’s prediction this morning, in a return to an in-person event after a two-year absence. The Bruce Peninsula’s famous prognosticating groundhog didn’t see his shadow this morning, and relayed the news to South Bruce Peninsula Mayor Garry Michi at exactly 8:07 a.m.
