Giants notebook: North Van phenom and Regina Pats star looks to fill Calgary's Saddledome on Wednesday.

The Iowa Wild announced on their social media channels last week that they had agreed to the mutual release of Ronning, 25, from his American Hockey League contract. Red Deer’s previous record was 7,208, set on March 19, 2016 with a visit to the Edmonton Oil Kings. The teams were one point up on the ninth-place Medicine Hat Tigers (19-27-7-1), with Regina holding two games in hand on Medicine Hat. That attendance bump for Bedard came to the forefront in the league initially when the Pats’ road trip through B.C. The Pats started Wednesday ninth in the league in announced attendance average, at 3,888. The Saddledome lists capacity at 19,289, and there were a smattering of single seats available as of Wednesday morning.
