Montreal Canadiens vs. Ottawa Senators Prediction, NHL Odds (Sports Interaction)

Saturday night in the NHL will have an all-Canadian matchup as the Montreal Canadiens travel to the Nation's Capital to play the Ottawa Senators.

Toronto is fighting for home-ice advantage in the first couple of rounds in the playoffs whereas Ottawa wishes it were part of the post-season conversation at all. None of that mattered with pride on the line. The Red Wings were a far more beatable opponent and if it weren’t for a couple of remarkable, gobsmacking saves from Ville Husso, the Canadiens would have won. The squad sits next-to-last in the Eastern Conference, with little hope for what the remainder of the campaign has in store. Last Saturday, they welcomed arch-rivals the Maple Leafs to the Bell Centre and, as Montreal is want to do, stormed back from an early deficit to pinch a win. Ottawa is in a similar situation.

Grant White breaks down Saturday's NHL game between the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators, including a betting prediction.

That sub-optimal standard could be exacerbated by playing on a back-to-back, and for the third time in four nights. The content on this page is for informational purposes only. We may be compensated for the links provided on this page. The Swedish tendy is 0-3-0 in four starts, posting a 3.49 goals against average and 89.3% save percentage. The former seventh-round pick has posted a save percentage below 90.0% in four of his past six, with a cumulative 86.2% mark. Altogether, the Canadiens’ analytics suggest that more high-scoring affairs are on the horizon. Their defensive zone coverage continues to sink the team’s analytics, as the Canadiens have allowed at least 11 high-danger chances in all but one of their last eight matchups. No Eastern Conference team has been worse than the Canadiens in 2023. Likewise, Jake Allen’s set a -17.3 benchmark over his 10 years in the NHL. The Sens are fresh off a monster 6-2 win against the Leafs last night, but goaltending issues could impact their competitiveness against the Habs. Further, they’ve eclipsed 10.0% shooting at five-on-five in four of their previous five. This calendar year, Montreal is a respectable 5-6-1, with three of those victories coming over the past six outings.

Just like the Canadiens, the Sens are struggling this season, they’ve got 47 points and are second to last in the Atlantic division. Meanwhile, the Laval Rocket is also battling a lot of injuries and are currently out of town so recalling someone from the farm team would have caused some logistics problems, the chosen player might not have been able to join the Habs in time. The infirmary is pretty much working at full capacity in Montreal, so much so that the Canadiens are struggling to ice a complete formation.

Ottawa looks to sweep their weekend rivalry series, this time against Montreal.

# Then after that, they have one more game in Montreal on February 25th as well. The undrafted defenseman has a whopping 92 PIMs in 47 games and has the ability to get under the skin of his opponents. - If Mandolese does get the start tonight (due to this being a back-to-back), it’ll be interesting to see how he does. In games two and three he gets to see Ottawa’s two biggest rivalries up close, including a game in Toronto. Last night the Senators had to face one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference on the road, and tonight is a much different task.

Jones’s diagnosis came in early January and he told the Ottawa players and coaches shortly afterward. Dach also had an assist against the Red Wings, coming up a goal short of a Gordie Howe hat-trick. Dach drops gloves: Centre Kirby Dach had only the second fight of his NHL career against the Red Wings when he dropped the gloves and pummelled Andrew Copp five seconds into the second period. Allen has a 10-16-2 record with a 3.53 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage. After beating the Maple Leafs 6-2 in Toronto Friday night, the Senators were only six points ahead of their pace last season — when they were 18-25-5 after 48 games — and they were 10 points out of a wild-card playoff spot. Giroux scores twice as Senators dominate Canadiens (Sportsnet.ca)

Claude Giroux scored twice and added an assist as the Ottawa Senators beat the Montreal Canadiens 5-0 Saturday night.

"We take a penalty and then we get a power play, but have trouble getting in the zone and had a lack of execution. "They were opportunistic on their chances and I think that cost us the game." We were a little flat coming out, but I thought as the game went on, we got to the net a bit and we got some turnovers.'' Joseph added an empty-net goal with just over one minute in regulation leading the numerous Montreal fans on hand to head for the exit and Brassard made it 5-0. "I liked all of our game for the most part, except for maybe in the third we had some challenges getting to the net,'' said St. "I don't know what the chances are, but they had lots in the first period.

Call Of The Wilde: Ottawa Senators outgun the Montreal Canadiens (Globalnews.ca)

Night one Saturday in Ottawa had the Senators skating to a 5-0 win.

All in all, acceptable numbers for a player who could be one of the best third line centres in hockey in five years. Sometimes, the final score is not always a perfect reflection of the actual run of play. Roy would have also been a more expected choice because he is 19 years old and two years out from the draft. He was called upon to fill in for Canada at the Worlds when they suffered injuries as well. Finally, to the goalie who has suddenly turned into one of the best in hockey for the last dozen games: Samuel Montembeault entered the season as a question mark. That’s a lot of good happening in a year, despite what the standings show. Doctors say that Caufield has a 90 to 95 per cent chance of returning to play with the same range and power on his shot. He is a possession monster. In an outstanding article from Arpon Basu at The Athletic, it was learned that Caufield could have suffered permanent damage if he continued to play, according to doctors. He had a serious wrist injury that made him struggle for a reason. He is having a breakout season. Night one Saturday in Ottawa had the Senators skating to a 5-0 win.
