Bruins, Penguins arrive in baseball style for Winter Classic (NHL.com)

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins didn't just take a bus to Fenway Park for the 2023 Discover NHL Winter Classic. They took a trip back in time.

The Bruins defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 in the 2010 Winter Classic. "The guys walked out in vintage Red Sox outfits and, again, you come back to how lucky we are to be at such a great event." Bergeron said that the Bruins were planning this for a year, since the announcement of the 2023 Winter Classic at Fenway. The uniforms were custom-fitted to each player, complete with stirrup socks.

This year's Winter Classic will be the second one played at Fenway Park, making it the only venue in the history of the event to play host twice. The Penguins brought an old time baseball feel to Monday's game, too. The Boston Bruins defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2023 NHL Winter Classic thanks to some big plays made by Jake DeBrusk.

As for the Penguins, these are tough two points to lose as they try to hang on to their spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race. Add this game to a long list of great moments between them. That was especially true today when you think about what these two have contributed to the league as a whole. This was an outstanding matchup to start as two incredible hockey franchises came together in a great celebration of our sport. They held that lead for a while. With amazing Hall of Famers on both sides, it was always going to be an incredible game.

There have been some changes, of course, from that original logo in the 1920s. The logo follows the shape and style of the club’s second logo, first worn on Bruins sweaters in 1926. [as a shoulder patch in 2007](https://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/cr63feesyplokk50k5od/Boston_Bruins/2008/Alternate_Logo) (and still wear it today), then again, briefly, as [ the primary crest on their third uniforms](https://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/gvpr7gbgphihjf5gfg5a7njkk/Boston_Bruins/2009/Alternate_Uniform) from 2008 through 2016.

Bruins Unveil Commemorative Logo For 2023-24 Centennial Season (NESN.com)

The Boston Bruins have officially unveiled the commemorative logo they will be using during their Centennial season in 2023-24.

The typography used within the mark is a hand-drawn adaption of the club’s iconic nameplate artwork, and will be featured in Centennial wordmarks and supplemental creative throughout the celebration. The varsity-style ‘100’ typography inside of the bear is a nod to retro styling, harkening back to pennants and programs from yesteryear. You can read part of the release below:

Boston Bruins Goaltender Giving Off Vibes Of Former Goaltender (Last Word on Baseball)

Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark has been a bright spot this season. It is so bright he's giving off vibes of a former goalie.

It is a blessing to the team and the fans and is a treat to watch. He has carried the bulk of the load and is a candidate for the Vezina Trophy. Thomas went on to capture the Vezina Trophy, Conn Smythe Trophy, and the Stanley Cup. With how well Boston is playing right now, a large part of it is due to the Vezina calibre play of Ullmark and the vibes he is giving off-take us back to the 2010-11 season. But there’s a reason why Ullmark is giving off the same vibes Thomas did this season. In addition, he ranks 27th in high danger save percentage, and his [20.4 GSAx](https://moneypuck.com/goalies.htm) also ranks at the top of the league. But in regards to recently, the team has been blessed in terms or transition. And for over a decade, the Bruins have been perennial contenders giving fans a reason to be happy. Ullmark concludes the month with a 3.55 GSAA, and a .883 high danger save percentage. In addition to that, the fans and organization have been spoiled in regard to one position in particular. It is never easy to transition to another high-calibre starter when the guy prior retires or moves on. The Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, and Boston Bruins all winning a championship in the 2000s have fans spoiled.
