Maple Leafs vs Coyotes Odds, Picks, and Predictions Tonight: Bank ... (Covers.com)

NHL odds, picks, and predictions for the Toronto Maple Leafs at Arizona Coyotes on December 29. NHL betting best bet and free pick analysis.

The Leafs were also cashing Unders thanks to some unsustainable goaltending as Samsonov and Murray were two of the top goalies on goals saved above expected/60. There was a point this season when Vejmelka was near the top of the league in save metrics, but the netminder has allowed three or more goals in 10 of his last 11 games and has been getting peppered with shots, seeing an average of 34 shots per game over that stretch. The books have adjusted the Leafs’ totals over the last month as Toronto had become very profitable to the Under. Colorado and is seeing an average of 6.37 combined goals per game. I’m sure Keefe will want to tighten things up after Tuesday, which is bad news for the Yotes. He has been more consistent than Samsonov of late and has a 2.18 GAA and a .932 SV% since returning from injury back in late November. Louis a day early (and costing the franchise $100K), the Maple Leafs were anything but dominant vs. The No.1 D-man has been out since late November and his return is certainly worth some points on the moneyline. The Leafs opened at -275 but have seen some money move this to -300. However, a lot of that blame should be put on goalie Ilya Samsonov who saw just 34 shots, allowed four goals, and finished with -1.7 goals saved above expected. In the Mecca that is Mullet Arena, however, that number jumps to 36.4 shots per night. He didn’t find the scoresheet but had plenty of chances.

Maple Leafs vs. Coyotes prediction: An underdog play in the NHL ... (New York Post)

Odds, predictions, picks and best bets for NHL action Thursday night as the Arizona Coyotes play the Toronto Maple Leafs.

So sit tight, and when then number gets out of hand, jump in on the pesky Coyotes. The visiting teams won’t be used to the conditions, the sight lines or the atmosphere, while the Coyotes will be settled in at home. Arizona is 11-20 when it closes as an underdog in 2022-23 and even though that’s only good enough for a 35.5% win rate, the Coyotes would have returned $517 of profit to a $100 bettor on the moneyline. And as uninspiring as that sounds, you could still make an argument that [Arizona](https://nypost.com/article/best-arizona-sports-betting-sites/) has been better than expected through the first 33 games this season. Instead, this is a question about whether or not Arizona is worth a bet at a big number. Toronto is 21 points and 56 goals ahead of the Desert Dogs in the standings, and the underlying metrics paint a similar picture.

The Toronto Maple Leafs stay on the road and head south to face the Arizona Coyotes.

Over 6 goals (-121): The Maple Leafs’ goaltending slump is contributing to plenty of overs hitting. Toronto, on the other hand, isn’t covering this spread with any sort of regularity. Coyotes +1.5 (-113): In addition to grading out better offensively, the Coyotes are also keeping games close. The Maple Leafs have allowed opposing teams to go over this number in four of their last five outings. [according to Natural Stat Trick](https://www.naturalstattrick.com/teamtable.php?fromseason=20222023&thruseason=20222023&stype=2&sit=all&score=all&rate=y&team=all&loc=B&gpf=410&fd=2022-12-15&td=2022-12-29). Additionally, expect the over to be in play with these two.

Any time Mats comes to town, there is definitely a little more [energy] in the building for sure. There is not a bad seat in the house. Just being in a smaller arena in general when you are so used to being in these big arenas is pretty cool. It is just a different environment. I didn’t know a lot about him, but just watching him in the last couple of games, he is a pretty special young player. It should make for a little more intensity to the whole thing. [Leafs](https://mapleleafshotstove.com/) lost to this Coyotes team 4-2 in Toronto in the fourth game of the season, sending the Toronto market into a mini-meltdown back in mid-October. It will be interesting to see how many Leafs fans will be here tonight and what that might do for the atmosphere. I kind of just want to chip in where I can. The break itself is disruptive for all of the players. I think it is going to be a little bit more intimate, of course. 17 loss to the Coyotes in their first-ever visit to the Mullett Arena (9:00 p.m.

Preview: Coyotes Close out Homestand Against Maple Leafs (NHL.com)

The Arizona Coyotes wrap up their three-game homestand on Thursday against the Toronto Maple Leafs, fresh off their win over the defending Stanley Cup champion ...

In all, Toronto has three players with 40-or-more points on the year. The 28-year-old has 16 points - all assists - in 20 games this season, but has not played since Nov. The 29-year-old blue liner has 25 points in 33 games this season. Toronto's 22-7-6 record is the third-best in the league (based upon points percentage), and has one of the most dangerous offenses with Mitch Marner, William Nylander, and Auston Matthews. Six different players scored for the Coyotes on Tuesday, and both Lawson Crouse (1G, 2A) and Jakob Chychrun (3A) notched three points each. Arizona has played well at home recently, as well, and is 5-1-1 in its last seven games at Mullett Arena.

“I don't really want to comment on the refs or anything like that. “I’m just playing with great players and in a really good system that fits my game,” Timmins says. “In the dressing room, he credited it to the team and the players, which is a part of it. “The way he’s got our team working, everyone’s pulling in the same direction. “Just a little rattling. I try to bring that energy and be that reliable guy that can kind of change momentum when need be,” Hunt says. On this night, both Keefe and perpetrator Conor Timmins — who otherwise had a fine performance — pointed to the defenceman’s careless high-sticking of Christian Fisher as a turning point. 24 — seven days prior to the 2023 trade deadline — if they’ll be taking Toronto’s 2023 third-round pick or 2025 second-round pick. Sheldon Keefe addressed the media after his team's 6-3 loss to the Arizona Coyotes that dropped the Leafs' record to 22-8-6.

It probably drowned out a lot of the atmosphere in terms of the crowd. That is a breakaway we give up on the first shift, so that is not a good look for us off the start. I don’t know if the speakers are turned up a little extra or if it is because they are a little lower, but it is real loud in terms of the music. That is two games in a row now that we have given up a lead in the third period. I thought we did a good job of managing the puck in the first period. Again, we took a careless penalty in the third period.
