Kari Lake, who promoted Donald Trump's lies that the 2020 election was stolen from him, has refused to concede her own election loss.
The judge rejected her claim that problems with some ballot printers were the result of intentional misconduct.
A person who takes public opinion polls testified on behalf of Lake, claiming technical problems at polling places had disenfranchised enough voters that it would have changed the outcome of the race in Lake’s favor. County officials say the ballot images were slightly smaller as a result of a shrink-to-fit feature being selected on a printer by a tech employee who was looking for solutions to Election Day issues. They say about 1,200 ballots were affected by turning on the feature and that those ballots were duplicated so that they could be read by a tabulator. They claimed workers at the facility put their own mail ballots into the pile, rather than sending their ballots through normal channels, and also that paperwork documenting the transfer of ballots was missing. County officials say everyone had a chance to vote and all ballots were counted, since ballots affected by the printers were taken to more sophisticated counters at the elections department headquarters. Instead, she asked the judge to either declare her the winner or order a revote in Maricopa County, home to more than 60% of Arizona’s voters.
Kari Lake's appeal of her loss against Democrat Katie Hobbs in the campaign for governor of Arizona has been rejected by a judge.
Instead, in Maricopa County, which is home to more than 60% of Arizona's voters, she requested that the judge either declare her the winner or order a re-vote. “But this Court’s duty is not solely to incline an ear to public outcry,” the judge continued. Lake announced in a statement that she will appeal the decision.
Lake lost to Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs by about 17000 votes.

Court finds no 'clear and convincing evidence of misconduct' in the election for state governor.
My Election Case provided the world with evidence that proves our elections are run outside of the law. This Judge did not rule in our favor. The court found no "clear and convincing evidence of misconduct" that would have affected the outcome of the November election as Ms Lake alleged, Judge Peter Thompson said in his decision.
