Packers inactives: David Bakhtiari out, Terron Armstead in for Dolphins (Dairyland Express)

There are no surprises on the Packers inactives list with David Bakhtiari out, but the Miami Dolphins got a big boost with Terron Armstead expected to play.

[The Green Bay Packers’ playoff hopes received a big boost on Saturday, with New York, Washington, Detroit, and Seattle all losing.](https://dairylandexpress.com/2022/12/24/packers-playoff-hopes-help-playing-miami/) All of a sudden, their path to the playoffs is quite clear, but it, of course, requires Green Bay beating a very good Dolphins team on the road. [As the Packers try to limit the Dolphins’ big-play offense, pressuring Tua Tagovailoa will be a must.](https://dairylandexpress.com/2022/12/23/pass-rush-must-packers-big-play-dolphins/) Asking the Green Bay cornerbacks to cover the speedy Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle for three or four seconds routinely is not a recipe for success. Lastly, Caleb Jones and Jonathan Ford are the other two inactives, which again, is no surprise as both have been inactive all season when available. In the two games where the Packers combined for just 26 points, Jones and Dillon barely crossed the 100-yard mark and didn’t even hit 3.0 yards per rush. Jean-Charles was a primary special teams player early on in the year, but those snaps have now been taken by Corey Ballentine and Innis Gaines. Understandably so, all eyes over the last handful of games or so have been on Christian Watson and the Packers’ passing game, but the offensive line has been playing much better as well — and been relatively healthy — during this stretch, which has resulted in time for Aaron Rodgers and a potent run game.

The Miami Dolphins (8-6) continue their push for the NFL playoffs against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on Christmas 2022.

Green Bay Packers vs Miami Dolphins live online: stats , scores and ... (AS English)

The Miami Dolphins come into Week 16 in a late season crisis with their postseason hopes fading quickly as the Packers can still sneak in to the playoffs.

Hello everyone and welcome to Miami where it’s essentially do or die time for the Packers and the Dolphins. Miami traveled north last week and took the Bills to the very end in a blustery night in Buffalo and had their hearts broken on the last drive of the game. The Dolphins are on a late season slide while the Packers have surged back into the NFC post season picture, but neither teams can afford a loss day in South Florida. The Packers hosted Los Angeles Rams last week in a frigid Frozen Tundra and the defense made minced meat of the Rams offense. Rodgers going deep down the field after starting the drive from the GB 12 and finds Lazard for a 42 yard connection to bring us to the end of the first quarter and what a first quarter it was. The Dolphins need no reminder of how important this game is when it comes to their playoff chances, but they need to show they are a team that is ready to win these kinds of games. They are trying to stay above the Patriots, Jets and Titans with a win tonight. I'm sure he has a name for the look, but we'll just go with Papa Claus The Packers had a terrible start to the season, but have somewhat turned things around of late and now they have an outside chance at a Wild Card spot in the NFC. He took a shot at the end of that catch, but held on and the Packers call timeout. As alway, he is rocking the sombrero, but with a little holiday twist. They went for 271 yards and put up 20 points in the opening 30 minutes.

Live Updates: Green Bay Packers at Miami Dolphins (Sports Illustrated)

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Packers (6-8) and Miami Dolphins (8-6) will exchange touchdowns and hard hits on Christmas in South Florida.

"But anytime you get to perform, strap it up with the boys, I think there's a lot of family for myself that will be there, a lot of family that's going to be opening Christmas presents by the tree or whatever., A win by Green Bay over Miami would pull it to within a half-game of the Washington Commanders for the last spot. Miami fullback Alec Ingold grew up in suburban Green Bay and went to Bay Port High School. He has some great weapons, but I’ve been impressed with the way he plays. Why?’ and then he obviously he showed his incredible ability and had a great career down there. I like the way he handles himself, too. I think he handles himself with a lot of respect and class. “I watched a decent amount of his college career,” he said this week. “He dealt with a couple head injuries this year, which are dangerous, but I enjoy the way that he plays. Dolphins-Packers Week 16 Halftime Observations (DolphinMaven)

Breaking down the key moments from the first half of the Miami Dolphins game against the Green Bay Packers at Hard Rock Stadium.

-- The Dolphins turned the fourth-down stop into a 34-yard field goal by Sanders, but not until Tua was sacked twice — both times on plays where he had a decent amount of time. Also, you can follow me on Twitter at @PoupartNFL, and that's where you can ask questions for the regular All Dolphins mailbags. Raekwon Davis finished the play with a tackle from behind, but props need to go to Clayton Fejedelem and John Jenkins, among others, for not allowing any space for the up back. -- The Dolphins' next drive started off very well, but runs of 12 and 6 by Jeff Wilson Jr. -- The drive stalled, though, after yet another third-and-short failure when Tua Tagovailoa tried to hit Tyreek Hill deep down the right sideline. Nice blocks by Alec Ingold and Durham Smythe on the 14-yard run, and great job by Mostert of showing patience before hitting the hole. -- Elandon Roberts again had another impressive defensive series, showing good speed from side to side. You also can ask questions via email at [email protected]. Make sure to bookmark this site and check back daily for the latest Dolphins news and analysis year-round. [-- We'll start with the inactive list, which provided nothing but good news for the Dolphins with all the front-line players available. Packers capitalize on three fourth-quarter INTs to beat Dolphins (ESPN)

Green Bay pulled past Miami on Christmas Day after picking off Tua Tagovailoa three times in the fourth quarter, including a game-sealer from Rasul Douglas.

In the first half, Miami was 5-of-6 with 176 yards and a score. QB breakdown: Tagovailoa thrived on the big play in the first half, completing 9 of 12 passes for 221 yards and a touchdown -- including an 84-yard TD pass to Waddle and a 52-yard catch for Hill. Waddle's 84-yard touchdown in the first quarter extended their streak to four straight games with at least one touchdown of 60 or more yards. The Jets and Patriots own the NFL's fourth- and eighth-best defenses in terms of yards per game. The Dolphins blitzed Rodgers on 26 dropbacks Sunday, the most times he has been blitzed in a game since Week 15 of 2017. A day after the Seahawks, Giants, Lions and Commanders all lost, the Packers did their part, pulling to within a half game of the Commanders for the final wild-card spot in the NFC. The fact that Sunday's loss was against an NFC opponent is somewhat of a silver lining, considering it doesn't drastically impact their playoff chances, but they will likely need to beat both the Patriots and Jets in their final two games in order to snap a five-year playoff drought. They also lost right tackle [Yosh Nijman](https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/3871880/yosh-nijman) (shoulder) and defensive tackle [Dean Lowry](https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/2974348/dean-lowry) (calf). Days after being named a Pro Bowl alternate as a return specialist, he returned a kickoff 93 yards in the first quarter down to the Dolphins' 9. It also marked their third win of the season in a game in which they trailed by double-digits (the other two were against the Cowboys in Week 10 and the Bears in Week 13). It was the first time they've converted three fourth downs in one game since Week 12 of the 2020 season. Miami jumped to a 20-10 lead, but the Packers' defense registered three fourth-quarter interceptions to give Miami its fourth loss in a row after winning five straight from Weeks 7-12.

The Good, Bad And Ugly From The Green Bay Packers' Win Over ... (Forbes)

Rasul Douglas (29) and the Green Bay Packers upset the Miami Dolphins, 26-20, Sunday. Associated Press. Matt LaFleur was asked about Christmas last week.

… Miami had 172 total yards in the first quarter and 271 total yards in the first half. Green Bay special teams coach Rich Bissacia called a fake punt and the snap went to upback Dallin Leavitt, who tried running up the middle. Amazingly, the Dolphins averaged 11.3 yards per play in the first half. But Alexander made a feeble tackle attempt, Waddle broke free and raced the final 40 yards for a touchdown. One play later, Jeff Wilson scored to give the Dolphins a 17-10 lead. MASON CROSBY: Crosby, now in his 16th season as Green Bay’s kicker, set the franchise record for most consecutive and most total games played (256). Miami led, 20-10, with 2 minutes left in the first half and was at midfield. But Reed made arguably his biggest play as a Packer late in the first half. Instead, Reed forced a fumble by Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert and also recovered the loose ball. Santa was already good to the Packers on Saturday as the New York Giants, Washington, Seattle and Detroit — teams that Green Bay is chasing for a playoff spot — all lost. The Packers won their third straight game, improved to 7-8 and jumped from the No. The Packers are also 2-1 in January, giving LaFleur a 17-1 mark in games played after November (.944).

– The safety position continues to be a big problem for the Packers. Also, running the ball doesn’t mean running into the teeth of the Miami defense; there are creative ways to get Jones and Dillon touches–not to mention that Jones is a playmaker and doesn’t need perfect circumstances to make plays. I understand that the interior defensive front was playing really well, the Dolphins also blitz a lot, they were daring the Packers to throw in the first half, and the Miami secondary has struggled, but there needs to be more of an emphasis on a balanced run-pass mix. Miami also entered the game having the seventh-highest blitz rate in football, and we saw that on display against Green Bay. – If the Dolphins wanted to run the ball 30-plus times, they could have, as the Packers run defense had really no answers for Raheem Mostert or Jeff Wilson. – The Dolphins entered the game having allowed the highest yards per kick return in the NFL, so naturally, Keisean Nixon had a huge return, and then Miami tried to squib a kick away from him.

Nearly everything went right for Packers' playoff chances Saturday ... (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)

The Green Bay Packers could not have asked for a better day Saturday when it comes to their playoff chances, with the Giants, Commanders, Lions and Seahawks ...

Green Bay would have a tiebreaker over the Saints by virtue of a better record in NFC games (7-5 to 6-6) and would get the playoff spot, even if it were a three-way tiebreaker between the Packers, Saints and Seahawks. Now you have Carolina at 8-9 with a division title and Tampa Bay at 8-9 in position to vie for a tiebreaker. If Detroit beats the Bears next week, Green Bay could still match the Lions at 8-9 with a season-finale victory, but Detroit would have the edge on tiebreakers, coming down to common opponents. And, of course, the Packers would also have to sweep Minnesota and Detroit. The Packers could still win their final two games to post an 8-9 record. If the Packers indeed win out, Washington must lose just once more, with two remaining home games against Cleveland (6-9) and Dallas (11-4).

Forget the football game: London was a delight for Green Bay ... (Green Bay Press Gazette)

Nearly three months after the dispirited loss, Packers fans can look at their international trip with a better perspective.

"The atmosphere in the stadium was tremendous," he said. The Packers are not obligated to play an international game again for eight years, but they could go back as the visiting team. There were a lot of logistics involved in getting a full football team from Green Bay to London, let alone getting kids and grandkids there. Murphy estimated that up to two-thirds of the fans in the stadium might have been Packers fans.
