There was a 13-year gap between Avatar and Avatar: The Way of the Water, but fans of the James Cameron-led franchise won't be waiting that long for Avatar 3 ...
Because I think in the original story, he's got some attributes, he's got a certain amount of charisma and dynamism. And Avatar is part of that conversation, a big part of that conversation. He's a good leader and he's loyal, you know, he's got some stuff. It was just this story that Jim [Cameron] was kind of campfire telling me and her, and I'm thinking, 'I'm about to have a kid and about to follow this kind of adventure of a family was kind of had a weird parallel symmetry.' I think that was very exciting that if we got the opportunity to tell the whole saga, that would be great." And it's exciting to me to be a part of something that can create so much discussion." And we had, we spent two whole days reading the whole movie,"
Avatar 3, rumored to be called The Seed Bearer, is already filmed, and will be released in 2024. But there are two more Avatar sequels on the way — here's ...
This is a little less clear than with the third movie, but we do know that it’s written, according to Cameron, and that the cast and crew have shot part of the movie, but definitely not the whole thing. [According to Cameron’s most recent comments](https://variety.com/2022/film/news/avatar-5-plot-navi-earth-neytiri-1235457940/), he thinks Avatar 5 will bring the action to Earth. In the director’s words, Neytiri will see that not all humans are bad, but the audience will also see that not all Na’vi are good — which softly implies an Avatar alien-invasion movie. But Landau tells Polygon that a fifth film isn’t necessarily a done deal — the fate of that proposed film may depend on how The Way of Water does at the box office. With that in mind, the leaked title for Avatar 3 is The Seed Bearer. An obvious guess: it’s possible the young actors involved with The Way of Water needed to shoot a portion of Avatar 4 before, you know, growing up. Given that we already see someone ride (sort of) a Tulkun in this movie, it’s a little unclear what this title might be referring to, so we’ll probably have to wait for more details on that front. Perhaps the easiest guess is that this movie will continue Jake’s campaign against the Quartich and the skypeople, and follow Kiri more closely after her superpowered third-act in The Way of Water. This doesn’t necessarily mean this is exactly what this movie will be called, but considering that Cameron and his co-writers have already worked ahead on a few movies now, he likely has a great idea of what he’d like it titled. Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds), and Shane Salerno (Hawaii Five-0) worked along with Cameron to develop the story for the franchise, then split up to each take a script for a film. Cameron hasn’t been shy about where those movies or at and basic details, which means we know more about what the next decade has in store for Avatar than we might with a typical franchise. But with all those exciting behind-the-scenes details revealed, it still doesn’t give us the full picture of what we know about the next three Avatar movies.
James Cameron should play the lottery because his big gambles always pay off. Titanic? Nailed it. Avatar? Home run. But after that he bet even bigger, ...

He knows 2022 is a different world than 2009 and isn’t sure people will turn up for The Way of Water as they did the original. If we fall off quicker, it could be just market forces, it could be attention span, it could be covid. [Collider](https://collider.com/avatar-4-james-cameron-comments/) he teased that the studio executive who read the part four script reacted with just two words: “Holy fuck.” So, that’s pretty enticing. 2 Years + 2 Months Subscription](https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/kinja-deals/lifehacker) Wouldn’t be as satisfying to me because what happens is, after [Avatar 3], the story goes in a really unexpected direction and three is a natural stopping point.
With Avatar: The Way of Water poised to thrill audiences quite spectacularly, it's time to think about speeding up the release of Avatar 3 to capitalize on ...
If you’re ready to support the Avatar saga, you can see The Way of Water in theaters now! Surely a clip reel of what’s to come could have been attached, so as to further tease the appetites of those wanting more. It’s almost surprising that with as far along as the second sequel is, James Cameron and his team didn’t include a scene from the next film at the end of The Way of Water. There’s a chance that thanks to its long-awaited return, Avatar: The Way of Water might be able to replicate those results. Having an entire movie filmed is a good sign for how this strategy could play out, as the continued production of the franchise has kept everything relatively on the rails. Should all go according to plan, the expected two-year gaps between each new Avatar film would mean things are business as usual for the sequels to come. Were that to be the case, it’d be even more proof that Disney is getting used to programming mega hits around the holidays. Now that Star Wars is currently a big question mark when it comes to its theatrical endeavors, Disney could have holes in its schedule through the next couple of years. While other major motion pictures are already slotted in that release date, you can almost be certain that Disney could make the ultimate power move by releasing another Avatar movie in 2023. Aided by pushing Avatar 3 into the December 2023 slot that Star Wars: Rogue Squadron once occupied, Disney would buy itself that sort of time. [new movie release](https://www.cinemablend.com/news/2569630/2022-new-movie-release-dates-full-schedule-of-all-the-upcoming-movies), the numbers are starting to tell a story that the naysayers wish weren’t true. Should this be the case, I think it’s time for Disney to bet big and go against the pattern that this series has followed in its history of delays.
