Canadiens' Drouin to return to lineup vs. Senators (Sportsnet.ca)

Drouin, who was dealing with an upper-body injury, was centring the fourth line alongside Micheal Pezzetta and Joel Armia during morning skate in Ottawa.

That's gonna take a few shifts, a few checks, to get in the game but I didn't hate how I played hockey before getting injured." "Obviously, it's a little different because I haven't played in four weeks," Drouin said. Drouin only played 12 of Montreal's 28 games this season, picking up four assists in the process.

Game Preview #29: Montreal Canadiens vs Ottawa Senators (SenShot)

The Ottawa Senators come into Wednesday with a three-game point streak thanks to the hot stick of Alex DeBrincat and the sharp play of Cam Talbot.

The veteran is now 3-1 in December and will look to keep the hot streak going tonight. - 6th in NHL in powerplay percentage (27.4%) The rookie has just six points combined in November and December after starting his career with six goals in his first eight games. One of the significant exceptions to that was his last start, where he allowed seven goals to the Canucks, saving just 78% of shots. After struggling to find the back of the net to begin the season, he has scored three goals in his last two games. DJ Smith told the media this morning that both will be out for at least a week.

Canadiens vs Senators Odds, Picks, and Predictions Tonight ... (Covers.com)

NHL odds, picks, and predictions for the Montreal Canadiens at Ottawa Senators on December 14. NHL betting best bet and free pick analysis.

This seems like a game where I'll steer clear of the total and just bank on my man Tkachuk to do his thing. Both of these teams have been quite profitable playing to the Under, with Montreal's O/U mark at 11-16-1, and Ottawa's at 11-17. One area of the ice the Senators will have Montreal's number is on the man advantage. Montreal's been even worse on offense, sitting 25th in the league in goals per game (2.86). As discussed previously, the Canadiens take a ton of penalties, which could spell disaster against a PP unit that ranks sixth in the league — sitting at a 27.4% success rate. The Ottawa Senators opened up this Atlantic Division duel as -180 favorites and have since been bet up to -205. The Canadiens have held their own this year on the road — 7-5-2 record — while Ottawa has gone an uninspiring 7-8-0 at home. But with the perfect matchup in front of him and plus money for us, it's definitely worth "taking a shot," — pun shamelessly intended. He's showing tons of confidence this season, and going against a leaky defense will help the Sens' young stud get to where he needs to be. With Montreal making bonehead plays throughout the game, that'll give Tkachuk more time on the ice to help his team do some damage. But enough about Tkachuk, let's take a look at the competition he's facing tonight that typically gives up a shit ton of shots. Tkachuk has been letting it fly this season, peppering 123 shots on goal — good for 4.4 per game — and he looks more confident than ever.

Canadiens vs. Senators prediction: A profitable underdog NHL pick ... (New York Post)

The Montreal Canadiens are visiting the Ottawa Senators at 7:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday night.

Plus, the Senators have struggled defensively for most of the season so they need to tilt the ice to help provide some breathing room for a leaky blueline. The Canadiens are built to be a clinical team that relies on their playmakers to make the most of the moments that they create. Montreal has a -13 goal differential (and -6 goal difference at 5-on-5), ranks 25th in expected goal rate and sits 28th in high-danger scoring chance share. That’s quite impressive for a team that was among the favorites to win the wooden spoon (finish with the worst record in the regular season) before Opening Night. Although nobody expected the Sens to be a powerhouse, expectations were higher than they’d been in a long time after a splashy offseason that saw Claude Giroux, Alex DeBrincat and Cam Talbot head to the Canadian capital. The Habs, who finished dead last in 2021-22, are 12-12 when they close as the underdog this season, and if you had bet $100 on all 24 of those contests you’d be up $827, which equates to a 34.5% ROI.

Montreal Canadiens vs. Ottawa Senators preview, prediction, pick ... (Yardbarker)

The Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens could be without significant firepower Wednesday night when the teams meet in Canada's capital city.

In addition to being one of the best coaches in the country, Leach was also one of the smartest. And the Commanders (7-5-1) are the sixth seed if the playoffs were to start today. Boston has added Masataka Yoshida on a five-year deal to play left field, but they’re now dealing with a vacancy in the middle of the diamond. Ovi is another example – like most of the shooters on this list – of a player who is able to adapt to the puck. Oakland’s Ramón Laureano has some center field experience and would add a righty bat to the outfield, but he’s coming off a dismal 2022 season and the A’s may prefer to hold him in hopes of a better year that rebuilds his trade appeal. In any event, the Red Sox figure to bring in another player with the athleticism to cover up the middle. "You do it with the puck, you do it with pucks in the air, timing, it's so hard to do, and you're watching the best players in the world do it." In the team's announcement, the Browns say the look is a "nod to several storied eras in Browns history," which includes the 1999-2005 seasons. Stamkos has been one of the most prolific snipers of his generation, much of it owed to his one-timer. New York Giants The Giants are one of the most receiver-needy teams in the NFL. Montreal has covered the under in three straight games and both teams are in the bottom half of the league in scoring. Point moved his goal streak to four games at 12:13 of the second period by taking a pass in the neutral zone from Nikita Kucherov and then slicing his way through the Kraken defense for his 15th goal.
