Patrice Bergeron also scored for Boston and Linus Ullmark stopped the final 30 shots to improve to 16-1. Game 27 Boston Bruins @ Vegas Golden Knights Lines, Preview (Boston Hockey Now)

The Boston Bruins are looking to secure a winning road trip out West with the road finale against the Vegas on Sunday night.

-Rookie Logan Thompson is expected to get the start for the Golden Knights after coming up big in their shootout win over Boston earlier this week. “He’s just uber talented,” said Jim Montgomery, simply of the Boston Bruins game-breaker at right wing. So the odds are very decent – we are in Vegas, after all – that Krejci is absent due to the blocked shot, and Pavel Zacha would slide over to be the No. After Jeremy Swayman had a rough night in Arizona with four goals allowed on 16 shots and a last-minute play where icing was waved off for the game-winning goal, the Boston Bruins are expected to go back to Linus Ullmark. It’s a little bit of a thing for us is we don’t want to lose two in a row. At this point in the season, it’s pretty clear that the Boston Bruins do not like losing.

"It didn't look good from the bench," Cassidy said. It was a really good team effort." Good for them for executing the plan," Cassidy said. "All in all, our power play was effective in terms of generating. "Our power play scores early, gets us the lead. He took a pass from Chandler Stephenson, skated to his right and slid the puck past Ullmark. We were fine," Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy said. It was the third time in the past four games, including two against the Bruins, that Eichel was unavailable. "I knew 'J.D.' was coming, so I just made a pass to him and he scored," Zacha said. I was able to make a play and find him there backdoor." That was a big point of emphasis for us, but we knew 1-1 in the third period, we knew we were the best team in the third period in the League." Vegas is a really good team and well coached.

Bruins Rebound with Win Over Vegas (NHL.com)

Boston notches three unanswered goals to pick up 3-1 victory over Golden Knights.

"Sometimes, you just get that feel that it's gonna be a tight game. But I think Hallsy made the play on the wall really hard." I feel like I have some freedom to play and make mistakes. Obviously, he was in a great spot and he does the rest…and JD's ready for it on the backdoor. "Hallsy I think made a great play there," said Zacha. "But whoever I play with and whatever my position is, I know right before the game what my role is with the team and it's just easier for me to play like that. "I thought he was really good down low in the D-zone," said Montgomery. It's a fun goalie to play in front of." It was a tough ending to the game [in Arizona] - a game that we thought we played pretty well - and have a short memory. "[Coach Jim Montgomery] said [at Saturday's practice] that we want to win every series against every team this year, and for us to do that, we had to get a regulation win tonight. Now we won this one, had a good road trip and look forward to go home and prepare for Tuesday." A building that's not easy to play in and a team that has motivation to beat us," said Taylor Hall, who picked up an assist and a game-high six shots on goal vs.

What we learned from the Bruins' 3-1 win in Las Vegas (Boston.com)

Patrice Bergeron found the equalizer early on in the second period, burying the feed from David Pastrnak from the slot.

Whether he’s playing the puck out of the crease or he’s in the crease and in traffic, he’s seeing pucks. Friday night’s bizarre loss to the Coyotes was an outlier in an otherwise benchmark stretch of schedule. Hall’s hard work got the puck up to Zacha, whose saucer pass found DeBrusk for a back-door one-timer to give the Bruins the lead. “We needed to reset,” Hall said. I had switched Pastrnak and DeBrusk early in the second.” Hutton, who had just exited the penalty box, received a stretch pass from Stone. The draw went right back to Connor Clifton, who quickly found David Pastrnak along the right wall. Montgomery’s latest shakeup came to the entirety of Boston’s forward group on Sunday. A newly constructed middle-six would finish off Vegas in the final frame. “I think I made the switch in the second,” Montgomery said. But an offensive shakeup paved the way for more fruitful results in the ensuing 40 minutes. Monty [Jim Montgomery] switches the lines a lot.”

Talking Points: Ullmark Clutch Again; DeBrusk Celly Extra Sweet (Boston Hockey Now)

Linus Ullmark (30 saves), was clutch again and Jake DeBrusk scored the game-winner as the Boston Bruins beat the Vegas Golden Knights 3-1.

Vegas kept the heat on but Ullmark held down the fort and paved the way for the Bruins to pull away in the third period. Refs about to lose control of this one BLACK EYE: Once again, we were reminded of how much the NHL still needs to do to protect its superstars.

Haggs: Boston Bruins' Family Business Gets Settled In Vegas Win (Boston Hockey Now)

Many of the Boston Bruins players that reportedly had issues with Bruce Cassidy stepped up in the rematch against his Vegas team on Sunday.

It’s a good feeling to contribute, but it’s a nice feeling to have my speed, and my puck-carrying to be carrying the puck a lot.” Ullmark still has a stranglehold on the NHL goalie triple crown with 16 wins, a 1.78 goals against average and a .941 save percentage that should be garnering tons of Vezina Trophy hype at this point. That freedom to make mistakes allows me to play a little loose and have some creativity, and ultimately it frees me up mentally to go after them with my skating and with my playmaking. The show of emotion from DeBrusk after the puck was in the net kind of gave away just how meaningful it was for the winger against a head coach that he didn’t always see eye-to-eye with over the last five years. DeBrusk admitted last week prior to the first meeting with Cassidy in Boston that players were “happy with the different feel and vibe” to this year’s team while off to a rollicking 22-4-1 start. Frederic is on pace for 18 goals and 33 points, which is amazingly the offensive production he’s put up in his entire NHL career with well over 100 games to his resume at this point. We’ve got some guys that can play all three,” said Montgomery, of putting those three forwards together in the third period when the Boston Bruins needed a goal. No matter what line you’re playing on you’ve got to play well and it’s the same system for everybody. Then on Sunday night he played with physicality, energy and inexhaustible speed that finally turned into the game-winning goal in the third period as the Bruins and Golden Knights battled in another close hockey game. That kind of in-game adjustment has been a new wrinkle that’s worked well with this season’s Boston Bruins group. “[Coach Jim Montgomery] said [at Saturday’s practice] that we want to win every series against every team this year, and for us to do that, we had to get a regulation win tonight,” said Taylor Hall, following Sunday night’s win in Vegas. Because it seemed like all of those in Black and Gold with grievances showed up with something extra for their former head coach, fair or unfair.

Hub of Hockey: Boston Bruins Open Up Homestand (Causeway Crowd)

After a min trip through the Southwest, the Boston Bruins return home to open up a five game homestand with three games this week.

Since that day, the Jackets have plummeted to the bottom of the Metropolitan Division with a 10-15-2 record, the worse mark in the Eastern Conference. If those numbers didn’t hurt, they currently have a minus-31 rating as a team, the third worse rating in the entire league. In the previous game between the two clubs, Linus Ullmark posted a 30-save shutout while his teammates scored four goals off 39 shots. Hampus Lindholm busted out of the gate to start the season on a hot streak many pegged would earn him the Norris Trophy at the end. Last season the Kings were upset in the opening round in seven games. Historically, they were a horrible team when visiting the old Boston Garden, going 10-41-3-0 until 1996, but have found success recently in TD Garden (formerly The Fleet Center), compiling a 9-7-3-1 record in 20 games. Last year the B’s lost two of the three matchups, getting outscored 10-8 in the contests, which continued a stretch of bad games against their New York rivals. The Isles sit in fourth place in the Metropolitan Division and are 6-4 in their last ten games. Furthermore, the last time Boston took a season series against the Islanders was in 2019-20, when they claimed two out of three, winning one in overtime. First-year coach Lane Lambert is working a new system with his players and is pushing for a playoff spot thanks to Sorokin’s 2.36 goals-against average (GAA) and .925 save percentage (SV%), which rank amongst the league’s best. This duo may not be the best in the league, but connecting on a timely goal could make or break a wide-open contest. Furthermore, they rank eighth in goals scored and fifth in goals against, which is quite an improvement for a team who missed the postseason last year and fired their head coach Barry Trotz.
