A new trailer released at the 2022 Game Awards revealed that the upcoming game will be released on Playstation 5, and shows Léa Seydoux once again suiting up to play Fragile.

It's 2016. Visionary game director Hideo Kojima takes the stage at E3 in his first appearance since his controversial departure from Konami.

Said mask looks strikingly similar to the face of Amelie Strand (Emily O'Brien), the woman who sacrificed herself at the end of the first game to stop an extinction event from destroying the world. The game also teases the possible return of primary antagonist Higgs (Baker), sporting a mechanical body while wearing a creepy red mask. Her disappearance and inexplicable reappearance as an apparition later in the trailer may portend the evolution of BTs, the afterlife monsters of the first game. For starters, fans have already guessed that the infant in the trailer is While most would reasonably call the game Death Stranding 2, Hideo Kojima (and his English interpreter) were very pointed in specifically calling this game "DS2" as opposed to using a full name. It's a long shot, but this could easily be a sign that the game will have a very different title upon release. While the first game ends on a relatively positive note, the trailer for DS2 portends a very grim follow-up. The story follows Sam Porter Bridges (Reedus), a courier who is tasked with delivering supplies to people around the country while hooking them up to a wireless communication network in an attempt to reconnect the world. He calls this game [Death Stranding](https://www.distractify.com/p/death-stranding-demo) and leaves gamers to try and parse what any of that was supposed to mean. Yet in typical Kojima fashion, we can't even confidently call this game "Death Stranding 2" — so is the title confirmed? [E3](https://www.distractify.com/p/why-was-e3-2022-canceled) in his first appearance since his controversial departure from Konami.

It was revealed in DS1 that Sam is a BB which could contribute to his rapid aging, while a couple of people think the scene with Sam takes place far into the future and that Fragile is actually a figment of his imagination. For example, u/IndianaJwns reckons reverse timefall could be introduced in DS2, letting Fragile take another dip and reverse the aging inflicted in the first game. There were plenty of details to thoroughly analyze, although one of the biggest mysteries so far revolves around Fragile and Sam, both of whom appear to be much younger and older than they were in the original game.
