Rune has been in pretty good form lately and will enter the match as the favorite to win. The Swiss also has an effective serve which can fetch him a lot of free points. Holger Rune had a good clay-court season where he reached the French Open quarterfinals and won his first singles title in Munich. However, his nine-match winning streak came to an end in the final, where Felix Auger-Aliassime beat him 6-3, 7-5. Wawrinka recently competed at the Swiss Indoors in Basel and started the tournament with stunning second seed Casper 6-4, 6-4. Wawrinka isn't the player he once used to be but has still managed to produce some good performances so far this season.
The time has officially arrived - it's time for the final Masters 1000 tournament of the season. Of course, I am referencing the ATP 1000 Masters event in.
This is actually the first time he enters an event of this magnitude as the top seed. Djokovic and Nadal are seeded in the same half of the draw, since they are seeded as 3rd and 2nd, respectively. With his newfound position on top of the tennis world, it is Carlos Alcaraz who goes into this Masters level event as the top seed. And the tournament itself promises plenty of top-level tennis and a fair bit of drama. As you may already know by the grading of the tournament, there are 1000 points up for grabs in the Paris Masters this week. Fokina played a really solid second set but Fritz was pretty good himself taking a break from the Spaniard that he did not let go. Overall a solid start for Fritz but nowhere near the level he will need to win the event. Fritz also had support from his somewhat consistent serve which was better than that of Fokina which allowed him to wrap up the opening set 7-5.
Since the draw is now published for the ATP Paris Masters, we have an idea of who is placed where. We also know which players are entered, ...
He won the event in Vienna last week too, showing signs of the level of tennis that we all know he can produce. He managed to win the event in Tel Aviv followed by the tournament in Kazakhstan, beating both Medvedev and Tsitsipas in that event. Or will it be one of the veterans in the form of Rafael Nadal or Novak Djokovic? Yet of the many top guys who are playing, there are just three guys who I feel have a great chance of winning the tournament. We also know which players are entered, who the top seeds are, and who is playing who in the opening rounds. Will it be the mighty Carlos Alcaraz, who is the top seed?
The Vienna and Basel champions turn their attention to Paris, hoping to continue their standout form in Bercy.
Only lifting the trophy in Bercy will give Fritz or Hurkacz a chance. “I’ve always believed that I can play this way, that I can be consistent in that way, but one thing is to believe and the other is to actually do it. Not a bad return to action for [Daniil Medvedev](https://www.rolandgarros.com/en-us/players/28836-d.medvedev). So hopefully this is just the beginning of seeing me play this way.” I am looking forward to the last two tournaments of the year which are really important and I usually play well.” I’m just really happy that all my work is coming together,” continued the world No.9. “It’s been an amazing week,” said the elated Canadian.
