Brown made an over-the-shoulder grab in the end zone for the third score as Pittsburgh defenders Minkah Fitzpatrick and Ahkello Witherspoon collided with each other. Brown might still be scoring and taunting in Tennessee had the Titans not felt in the spring his asking price for an extension was too high. "Those are the types of guys that reach his ceiling,'' Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said of Hurts. One knock on the Eagles this season was their second-half slowdowns. In that season, the Eagles were denied an 8-0 start with a loss to the Steelers. Wide receiver Chase Claypool threw a 1-yard pass to fullback Derek Watt on a trick play in the first quarter for Pittsburgh's only touchdown. Hurts hit Brown from 39 yards, 27 and 29 yards for a 21-10 halftime lead. He had only two touchdowns entering the game. Their first TD might have been the most impressive.

It took a near-miraculous comeback for Owens to play — and play that well — coming off a broken leg and torn ligaments in his right ankle. The good health of Brown, who had knee and hamstring woes early in his career in Tennessee, is critical for Philadelphia finishing off its hot start with a trip to Super Bowl 57. The Eagles fell just short of winning Super Bowl 39 against the Tom Brady's Patriots with Owens posting nine catches for 122 yards in a 24-21 loss. Brown (6-1, 226 pounds) has that same strong physical frame Owens (6-3, 224) had to post up defenders on top of blazing speed. He helped McNabb explode for his best statistical year after a few early seasons of limited passing pop with effective running. The Eagles' blockbuster offseason trade for wide receiver A.J.

Pickett has started four straight games after replacing Mitch Trubisky at halftime of the Steelers’ 24-20 loss to the Jets on Oct. Jalen Hurts' three first-half touchdown passes to A.J. Brown staked the Eagles to a double-digit first-half lead over the Steelers.

From the Press Room: Steelers at Eagles (Steelers.com)

Coach Mike Tomlin and defensive tackle Cameron Heyward talked about the loss to the Eagles.

When guys, everybody in our group, when we're not asking the right questions, and we're not taking the accountability and we're not taking on to the practice field and then to the game, there's a dysfunction." We got two weeks to think about this and we got to grow." "But the stuff we can't put up with is the mental mistakes and that needs to get fixed. It's better to look yourself in the mirror and say I gotta get better. But the mental stuff needs to get addressed and that will get addressed. "I just thought the penalty component of it and our inability to keep a lid on it was Steelers vs. Everyone else in the media and fans can say what they want but at the end of the day it's down to us. If you don't keep a lid on it in the NFL, you don't give yourself a chance to play. We got to finish them legally on offense in bounds or otherwise." "Not getting in the right spot, having some procedural penalties, personnel in and out of huddle, all things we can control. We got to keep a lid on it. "From my perspective it's less about what they do and about the things that we're not doing," said Tomlin.

We have too much talent in here for the record to be what it is and we know that. In that season, that meant stop turning the ball over. "We're shooting ourselves in the foot. Things looked bleak at midseason after a 55-31 throttling at the hands of the Patriots in New England. I don't think I did a good enough job to try to make the play. The Steelers were 1 of 3 scoring touchdowns on red zone trips in this game. "That's the NFL. We have to get guys in space more to get some more run after (the catch), guys catching the ball on the move. In this game, all 13 of the Steelers' points came on those long drives. Only in this game, it wasn't just the Steelers' lack of playmaking offensively that stood out. It's good to stay on the field and control the football and chew some clock up. On his final chance, he caught the ball on Bradberry, only to have it jar loose when he landed on the ground.

Given that he's less than a half-season into his time with Hurts and in this offense, there's reason to believe he and the Eagles haven't yet shown everything they're capable of -- a scary prospect for the rest of the NFC. Eagles' A.J. Brown wows teammates in dominant performance vs ... (NBC Sports)

Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown had a career day on Sunday and his teammates couldn't stop talking about it. By Dave Zangaro.

And there are going to be days when Goedert or Smith lead the Eagles in receiving. It’s hard to overstate how much the addition of Brown has meant to the Eagles’ passing offense. “To go out and do what he did today, that’s the reason he’s here. I’m proud of him as a friend and as a quarterback.” “I have a lot of trust in A.J.,” Hurts said. “I think that’s a lot of the reason why he’s here. Brown turned in a masterful performance fitting for one of the best receivers in the NFL. Through seven games, Brown is on pace for 95 catches, 1,600 yards and 12 touchdowns. And he became the first Eagle with three touchdown catches of 25+ yards since Ben Hawkins in 1969. Brown was very good in his first three seasons in Tennessee. That’s the reason Howie (Roseman) brought him here.” That one, kind of, I think he could have made that play and I bet he thinks he could’ve, too.

Labriola on the loss to the Eagles (Steelers.com)

For the second time in the last four weeks, 'embarrassing' is an apt description of the performance.

It's better to look yourself in the mirror and say, 'I've got to get better.' So, I'm going to use this time to truly do that." As Cowher said, the Steelers are 2-6 and in a period of transition. But there should be some accounting of where they are and what they need to do to turn what remains of this season into a positive. It's good to stay on the field and control the football and chew some clock. Harris is a hard worker who wants to be great, and it defies logic that he wouldn't respond to a constant reinforcing of that message. You got to keep a lid on it." If you don't keep a lid on it in the NFL, you don't give yourself a chance to play. The offense was back to doing, and not doing, the things that has made it one of the worst performing units from a statistical standpoint in the league so far in 2022. On third-and-1 from their 41-yard line on the Eagles' third play of their opening possession, Miles Sanders ran for 5 yards before encountering any Steelers defenders on the way to a 7-yard gain and a drive-extending first down. We got to keep a lid on it. Brown did his thing to the tune of 39, 29, and 27-yard touchdown catches, plus a 43-yard reception that set up an 11-yard touchdown run by Sanders that completed the scoring. With that out of the way, the Steelers' performance in their 35-13 loss to the Eagles on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field was embarrassing, the second time in the last four games where that description is appropriate.

But despite his postgame appearance and needing a cart to exit the field late in the first half, Davis’ injury isn’t believed to be season-threatening. Vacchiano thinks the Eagles could be interested in acquiring Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt. Philadelphia is next at +550, followed by the Kansas City Chiefs (+700).
