Rainfall warnings for Metro Vancouver call for up to 100 mm of rain ... (Daily Hive)

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley as some parts will get up to 100 mm of rain.

According to Environment Canada, an atmospheric river is setting up over the BC South Coast this weekend, bringing periods of rain that will gradually intensify to heavy rain overnight and into Sunday. Between 50 and 70 mm of rain will fall in most regions, but near the North Shore Mountains and Howe Sound, itโ€™ll be more in the range of 80-to-100 mm. Heavy rain is going to hit Metro Vancouver, Howe Sound, and the Fraser Valley late overnight Saturday and into Sunday night.

Environment Canada has issued public alerts for severe weather on much of the B.C. coast and Vancouver Island with an atmospheric river incoming.

The Lower Mainland should see heavy rainfall begin later Saturday, with up to 70 millimetres of rain for most regions. He said Environment Canada may add or modify its advisories throughout the weekend. "Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. So keep your emergency kit handy. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts." "There can be some power outages.

The forecast for Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022 calls for heavy rains and winds in Metro Vancouver, BC. Plus, a look at the Halloween night forecast: Will it rain?

During the day, Metro Vancouver is forecast to contend with a 60 per cent chance of showers late in the morning and in the afternoon, and a 40 per cent chance of showers at night. The daytime high will be 12C and the nighttime low 5C, meaning it's likely to be on the damp and chilly side for trick-or-treaters and other revellers. Today's temperature in Metro Vancouver will see a high of 11C, which is on par with the average for this day in the record books, however, our nighttime low is much higher than the average of 4.8C, with tonight's temp forecast to drop only a couple of degrees down to 9C.
