The newest in a long line of exorcism movies adds nothing to the conversation except some deeply troubling messaging.
Prey for the Devil makes the strongest argument in favor of Satan since Anton LaVey. Jacqueline Byers is asked to carry a lot of the film with her reactions alone, and she rises to the occasion. "I think that in 2022, going into 2023, life is often more scary than some of these films. "I say that it's like running a marathon. With horror, it's a tricky complex thing because fear is one of the most organic emotions, so it's pretty hard to convey that believable on film. Their characters team up to save the soul of a little girl from a demon that Ann seems to know very well. "People love going to the movies on Halloween, they love seeing this kind of movie, and I really believe that people are going to go with their friends and have a great time this Halloween weekend. However, Sister Ann gets stuck in traffic on her way to the airport and gets attacked by the army of Hell. Annieโs mother knew the demon inside her would force her hands to hurt her daughter forever. However, due to her efforts, Annie gets a scholarship at the Vatican to study demonology and become the first woman exorcist in seven centuries. Sister Ann decides to go back to the convent and abandon the school. Inside her body, Annie thinks about her mother and realizes the woman had killed herself to protect her daughter. Annie is willing to do whatever she can to protect the child and offers the demon her body. Due to her dangerous nature, Natalie is locked away in the schoolโs basement, in old cells that were used to hold witches and possessed people centuries ago. Imbued with new strength, Sister Ann decides to go back to the school to fight her demon. To try out her hypothesis, she joins Father Dante (Christian Navarro) in the exorcism of his sister, Emilia (Cora Kirk). These demons use Annieโs traumatic childhood to hurt her, forcing her to face the pain left by her dead mother. As Sister Ann works at the Boston facility, she begins to be taunted by demons inside some patients. Prey for the Devil is available in theaters, promising to breathe fresh air into the exorcism subgenre.
