With the calendar turning to November and the NFC playoff race looking particularly unpredictable, a matchup of the last two Super Bowl contenders could signal whether either one is going to be a factor down the stretch. The 3-3 Rams are coming off a bye week and are set to play division-rival San Francisco on Sunday after losing two of their last three, including a 24-9 decision in San Fran three weeks ago. The Buccaneers will once again try to right their ship after losing three in a row for the first time since Tom Brady arrived in 2022, ushering in a thrilling era of franchise success.

[Gus Edwards](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/gus-edwards/46027)‘ health: Edwards was another player who was questionable before getting injured during the game. [Julio Jones](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/julio-jones/6158)had a quiet return: Jones returned to the [Buccaneers](https://www.pff.com/nfl/teams/tampa-bay-buccaneers/30)‘ lineup after missing a few weeks but didn’t add a single yard to the team’s offense. - He injured his foot on the first play of the second quarter. - The Buccaneers tried running with Jones once, resulting in zero yards. He missed the last few games with a knee injury. - Edwards didn’t see much playing time, which could have been due to the injury and short week or because the Ravens weren’t planning on running much. [Isaiah Likely](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/isaiah-likely/83955)is potentially a top waiver priority: Likely was the Ravens' top offensive weapon Thursday night, picking up where he left off from the preseason. [suspects he suffered an AC joint sprain](https://twitter.com/PFF_Mario/status/1585814434584621056), which would leave him out for 1-4 weeks. He then suffered a shoulder injury in the second quarter and was ruled out shortly after halftime. Likely would have a lot of value in those games if Andrews is still out. [Ravens](https://www.pff.com/nfl/teams/baltimore-ravens/3)win despite several injuries: [Gus Edwards](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/gus-edwards/46027), [Rashod Bateman](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/rashod-bateman/84296)and [Mark Andrews](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/mark-andrews/47436)were all questionable coming into the game.
With tight end Mark Andrews, wide receiver Rashod Bateman and running back Gus Edwards all sidelined by injuries, quarterback Lamar Jackson led the Ravens ...
Lamar Jackson and the Ravens came on in the second half and then fended off a Tom Brady-led rally to defeat the Buccaneers on Thursday night.
WR [Rashod Bateman](https://www.nfl.com/players/rashod-bateman/)(foot) and TE [Mark Andrews](https://www.nfl.com/players/mark-andrews/)(shoulder) were both ruled out, and RB [Gus Edwards](https://www.nfl.com/players/gus-edwards/)(hamstring) never came back in after leaving the field in the fourth quarter. [Devin Duvernay](https://www.nfl.com/players/devin-duvernay/) reached a top speed of 20.19 mph on his 15-yard TD run, the third time Duvernay has reached 20-plus mph as a ball carrier this season. [Mike Evans](https://www.nfl.com/players/mike-evans/)in the end zone early in the game. Then there were back-to-back plays in the fourth quarter: an overthrow to [Kyle Rudolph](https://www.nfl.com/players/kyle-rudolph/)in the end zone followed immediately by a misfire to Evans (whom Brady wanted to do something else on the route, apparently) on the goal line. [Shaquil Barrett](https://www.nfl.com/players/shaquil-barrett/)to an Achilles injury, and the speed with which he was ruled out made it all the more concerning. The Bucs lost Bucs OLB Had you not watched a single play of the game and merely looked at his stat line (26 of 44 passing, 325 yards, TD) you might assume the Bucs killed themselves with penalties and turnovers. Back in the preseason, Likely was a standout with 12 catches for 144 yards and a score, and the thinking was that the Ravens might have the kind of two-headed TE attack they’ve nearly cornered the market on for the better part of two decades. Two blatant penalties later and Tampa was forced to kick the field goal, and they never had a shot to win thereafter. And the energy was nil. The blocking was listless. Part of it was because of who the Ravens had healthy (and who they didn’t have), but you just knew it couldn’t be sustained at that pace.
A promising first quarter went out of the window quickly as Tampa Bay dropped its third straight game.
The Buccaneers were a little too late trying to get things going on the offensive side of the ball as once again, the running game failed to be a factor with just 44 yards total on the ground. Even with the passing game remaining intact, you have to have a balanced attack to be able to play consistent ball. The Ravens ground attack was lethal and well-balanced across all of their backs while Lamar Jackson was able to create passing lanes with his legs and shred the Bucs' secondary. The Bucs' offense, even with all their faults in sustaining drives, was finally able to get the ball to Mike Evans on a 51-yard pass. Following their game-tying possession, the Ravens once again got the ball back and led a commanding drive down the field in which they were able to get whatever they wanted en route to a Jackson to Likely 10-yard touchdown pass to take a 17-10 lead. Ravens' cornerback Marlon Humphrey went out in the second quarter with a hamstring injury and was questionable to return as well.
