Toronto Raptors Bench Stays Flat (RaptorsHQ)

Through two games, Toronto has yet to get valuable production from their bench. Someone needs to step up in order for Toronto to truly compete this year.

A team who relies on the strength of beating you as a whole, relies on the reserve players to play their role as well. And in the East this year, every single win matters, especially against the projected playoff teams in your same conference. Making open shots inside the arc like this consistently is what will really take Achiuwa to the next level. A guy who can guard one-through-five, create his own shot, and as we’ve seen, a capable scorer from anywhere on the court. Through two games, even though Trent hasn’t necessarily shot the ball amazingly well, he has a solid grip on that starting spot. This should however, be a wake up call to the Raptors’ reserves that someone needs to step up. However, Toronto still lacks a true star, and one that can dominate in the half court consistently. Even [Khem Birch](https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/birchkh01.html), who has also yet to play a game, can provide some veteran minutes at the big man position, spelling Koloko who, impressive as he’s been, is still learning his role. It doesn’t ruin the experience completely, but it sure does bring a level of dejection to the evening. To put that into perspective; through three quarters in game two vs the Nets, The highest minute total belongs to the rookie, Your favourite team has made the conference finals for the first time in many years.

GAME PREVIEW: Miami HEAT take on the visiting Toronto Raptors ... (Hot Hot Hoops)

After dropping both games played against two Eastern Conference playoff teams to start the season at home, it is now the Toronto Raptors turn to steal a win ...

The [Miami Heat](https://www.hothothoops.com) are in need of a big bounce back and look to get on the board with their first win of the season. [odds](https://dksb.sng.link/As9kz/sa05?_dl=https%3A%2F%2Fsportsbook.draftkings.com%2Fgateway%3Fs%3D799884914%26wpcid%3D170735%26wpcn%3DInarticle%26wpsrc%3DVox%26wpcrid%3DNBA&pcid=170735&pscn=NBA&pcrn=Inarticle&psn=Vox) can be found at DraftKings. This is not a Heat defense that fans are accustomed to seeing so far this season. VanVleet was an All-Star last year and has that ability to torch opposing defenses. [Toronto Raptors](https://www.raptorshq.com) turn to steal a win in South Beach. To win this game, Miami needs to tighten up their defense.

Raptors Face Off Against Kyle Lowry's Miami Heat: Where to Watch ... (Sports Illustrated)

The Toronto Raptors will get their first look at Kyle Lowry and the Miami Heat this season: Here's where to watch and what to look for Saturday night.

- Kyle Lowry was dealing with some personal issues last season when the Raptors made their two trips down south to Miami. - Rookie second-round pick Chrisitan Koloko once again logged heavy minutes off the bench and at times looked far more reliable than Precious Achiuwa. Toronto's youth could pay dividends but it might just come down to whoever can last longer on what will certainly be some very tired legs.

NBA Odds: Raptors-Heat prediction, odds and pick - 10/22/2022 (ClutchPoints)

The Miami Heat host the Toronto Raptors for early NBA season action! It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Raptors-Heat prediction and pick.

He has played well in his first two games and can be a nightmare for the Heat if they aren’t careful. They are going to need Lowry to contribute at least 15 a night if they want to be the team they were last season. The Heat are yet to win a game so you know that they will be on their game offensively tonight. The key defensively will be for the Heat to shut down Siakam. The Heat fell to the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics to start the season. This is a huge season for them as they look to get on track with Jimmy Butler leading the way.

Raptors Game Tonight: Raptors vs Heat Odds, Starting Lineup ... (Raptors Rapture)

Will the Toronto Raptors take home a victory over another elite Eastern Conference foe in the Miami Heat? The latest Toronto Raptors odds say no.

Saturday’s game will be broadcast at 8:00 p.m. If one of their bench guys comes to play, Toronto could get back on track with a win. Erik Spoelstra is coaching a Heat team that is looking a bit older and less deep than they did last season. and his hamstring injury](https://raptorsrapture.com/2022/10/08/raptors-shooting-woes-importance-otto-porter-jr/) are out for the third straight game, while the hobbled Chris Boucher is still questionable. Miami is -138 on the moneyline, while Toronto checks in at +118 (bet $100 to win $118). The latest Toronto Raptors odds, however, aren’t very sure of that happening.

Game thread: Toronto Raptors at Miami Heat, injuries, updates, more (RaptorsHQ)

The dream of an 82-0 season is dead. Can the Raptors improve to 2-1 in Miami? Let's watch!

And it was the second Raptors game in a row that was close wire-to-wire, that featured two teams that looked evenly matched, that could have gone either way in the final minutes. After all, [last night’s game](https://www.raptorshq.com/2022/10/21/23417395/toronto-raptors-vs-brooklyn-nets-final-score-recap) — a loss to the [Brooklyn Nets](https://www.netsdaily.com) — was imminently winnable. And these two teams have a history of ugly, low-scoring slugfests. An incredible Pascal Siakam performance was wasted — but even he was a disappointing 5-9 night from the free throw line. The bench was a complete non-factor. [Toronto Raptors](https://www.raptorshq.com) take on the [Miami Heat](https://www.hothothoops.com) tonight on the second game of a back-to-back, it’s somewhat natural to feel disappointed in their current 1-1 record.

Partner Content | Raptors vs. Heat picks and odds: Back Miami to ... (Toronto Star)

The Toronto Raptors play their second road game in as many nights, this time in Miami against the Heat.

Over 214.5 points (-113): Both teams are playing their third game in four nights and are on the second leg of a back-to-back. With both teams on a back-to-back, expect this to be the difference in what should be a tightly contested contest. Miami and Toronto have solid starting rotations but we have far less faith in the latter’s bench. Precious Achiuwa is Toronto’s greatest weapon in that department, while Miami has Max Strus, Duncan Robinson and Gabriel Vincent to turn to. Nick Nurse was forced to play all five starters for 36-plus minutes last night. The Raptors will likely have to lean on their starters in this contest, while the Heat can be more liberal in their rotations.
