The Icon of the Seas won’t disembark until January 2024, but people can start booking their trips starting Oct. 25, and loyalty members get early access Oct. (CNN) – Royal Caribbean International is providing a first look at its newest cruise ship, the Icon of the Seas.

When Royal Caribbean launches Icon of the Seas in late 2023, it intends to deliver, "the most transformational ship the world has ever seen."

Royal Caribbean International has just revealed the first look at its highly anticipated Icon of the Seas, the newest ship in its fleet.

There are new layouts made for families of three, four, five and more, like the Family Infinite Balcony and Surfside Family Suite – with kids alcoves tucked away from the adults – and the three-story Ultimate Family Townhouse, complete with its own white picket fence and mailbox. Along with other proven applications, such as shore power connection and waste heat recovery systems, the new ship will be the cruise line’s most sustainable to date. - The Hideaway – Tucked away, this neighborhood 135 feet above the ocean combines the good vibes of beach club scenes around the world and the uninterrupted ocean views only a cruise can offer. The signature entertainment venue takes artistry and cutting-edge technology to new heights, with a transforming pool, four robotic arms, state-of-the-art projection and more. There’s a pool for every mood, each with prime ocean views: the vibrant Swim & Tonic, the line’s first swim-up bar at sea; Royal Bay Pool, the largest pool at sea; Cloud 17, an adults-only retreat; and the serene, infinity-edge Cove Pool. New with Icon will be an adults-only alcove on the island, Hideaway Beach, that will have private cabanas, ocean views, and a huge pool. All sailings will include a stop at the company's private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas, which is home to all sorts of other thrills and activities, including the tallest waterslide in North America. Icon will be the first ship in Royal Caribbean's fleet to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and the first to have fuel cell technology that will power some of the ship's operations—steps in the right direction; however, there's still a long way for it and other cruise lines to go before they can claim these mega-ships are "sustainable." As for sailing, Icon will make seven-night trips from Miami across the eastern and western Caribbean throughout the year. The Aqua Theater is repositioned from the stern on the Oasis class to a new large glass domed area at the front of the superstructure. Due to enter service in January 2024, the Icon of the Seas will be sailing from Miami. At 1,198 feet in length, the ship is 10 feet longer than the Wonder of the Seas, the current largest cruise ship. This includes the largest pool at sea, one cantilevered at the top of the superstructure, and a dedicated area for adult passengers. Royal Caribbean International provided the first details on its much anticipated new cruise ship, the Icon of the Seas, which has been under construction in Finland for a year. The cruise ship, which is the first of three ordered for the class, is being built at Meyer Turku and scheduled for delivery at the end of 2023.

Icon of the Seas will have a gross tonnage of 250,800 and be able to accommodate up to 5,610 guests. You can also control the television with the app, as well as the cabin lights and temperature. And a private patio level is sure to be the new favorite hang spot for table tennis competitions, with all the fun and splash of Surfside just steps away. The Ultimate Family Townhouse is a sprawling adventure-filled pad with three levels of incredible surprises. Icon of the Seas will have two dining venues just for suite guests. The Sunset Junior Suite has panoramic views and a corner balcony. Royal Caribbean's internal research showed them that guests wanted to see the ship's wake, so this type of cabin was crated. Another infinite balcony cabin allows you to expand your indoor living space or open up the fresh air with the touch of a button. Royal Caribbean also added an integrated bench to every standard shower, which means it's part of the shower and does not fold up or down.
