The feeling of 6-0 is great. Head Coach Nick Sirianni and company want that notion to linger.
"There are always things to work on, so I actually think that we can even be even more demanding and more crazy about what the standard is when you are 6-0. "You go in with a general thing of what you want to look at – where you are successful, where you aren't successful – so that will kind of tell the story. "Guys want to be great for the team and that is what makes me the happiest. We've got guys on this team that want to make plays, that want to put the game away," Brown said. That's not to say you don't do that when you're 0-6 or 2-5 or whatever, it's just easier to really get after everything because there are no feelings involved in there when you're 6-0. This period of time self-scouting is invaluable and when the time is used correctly, it becomes a tremendous benefit for the remainder of the season. That's exciting to know the team feels that way." What Brown saw in the spring and then in Training Camp and through the preseason has become extremely obvious to him in the regular season: The Eagles want it. It's going to be a lot of fun." "It's great to be 6-0 and where we are. If we want to get to where we want to be, we have to have that mindset. I think we have yet to play our best game and it's exciting to know that it's still out there."

Big plays on both sides of the ball, division rivals, fast and physical defense, oh please let’s run this back. Then someone must have clicked on Dorrough’s “Get Big” at halftime, because the Cowboys manhandled the Eagles to start the second half. What a nightmare it was for the Cowboys at first going, down 20-0. And with the Philadelphia crowd riled up after the Phillies took their bats to the Atlanta Braves’ championship defense at Citizens Bank Park on Saturday, this was certainly a spooky-season night fit for “Dreams and Nightmares.” It’s dishwasher friendly for easy cleaning and has a tight-sealing lid to prevent spills when taking it on the go. For me, on the occasion that Christmas falls on Sunday, NFL games feel like an intrusion.
This week, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence indicated he didn't think the Eagles and QB Jalen Hurts had proven anything to him yet, either.
One can only play the teams on their schedule and the Eagles scored 20 points in the first half on a defense that hadn’t given up 20 points in any single game this year. If the Eagles were in the AFC, you would have some true measuring sticks, such as the Bills and Chiefs, but even that conference is filled with parity after those two squads. After this week’s bye, the next month of the schedule should allow the Eagles to continue their quest for perfection. The Cowboys swept the Eagles last season (although the Week 18 blowout was meaningless and played entirely by the team’s backups), and over the last 20 meetings going back to 2012, the Eagles were 7-13 against them. offside, bought the Eagles a first down, and led to a Miles Sanders touchdown run on the opening play of the second quarter. The Cowboys are 4-2 and head home next week to take on the Detroit Lions, in what could be Dak Prescott's first game back after breaking his thumb back in Week 1. Brown, then the Eagles hustled to the line and pretended like it was going to run a play on fourth-and-4, even though they did not have to snap the ball before the end of the quarter. But for the highlights, we've got to go with Philly's three picks of Rush. The most well-designed play came from the Eagles, with DeVonta Smith faking a pick route and then stepping up into the end zone, where Jalen Hurts [found him for an easy score](https://twitter.com/NFL/status/1581841107591184392). Rather than take a look at the replay and challenge it (Lamb had clearly gotten the first down), the Cowboys quickly got up to the line and called a bootleg for Rush, who threw into coverage and incomplete. After Philly took a 14-0 lead in the second quarter, the Cowboys had a chance to cut into the lead. The Eagles used a monster second quarter to power their way to victory, with 20 of their points coming in that period. They took advantage of an opponent that made several mistakes, and they leaned on play design to win the battle against an aggressive defense. They turned it over, they took too many penalties, they did not have the offensive firepower to keep up with the Eagles, and they could not stop the run or the RPO game on big third downs. First, there was the final play of the first quarter. The Eagles are on their bye next week.
After a huge victory, the Philadelphia coach basked in the win on the way to the locker room.

He made a play with his legs, he controlled the clock, he was in complete control. In fact, he had been so efficient and the defense had been so stingy that Dallas had trailed for a total of just 12 minutes and 37 seconds over the previous four games. The Eagles are perfect, the Phillies are in the NL Championship Series, the Union host a playoff game this week, and the 76ers open the season this week and play the home opener Thursday. Then on fourth-and-4 from the 10, the Eagles snared Dallas in a neutral zone infraction for an automatic first down. Embiid and several other Sixers were at the game. Rush had led Dallas to four straight victories in place of the injured Dak Prescott but was overmatched under the lights in front of a rowdy crowd — and an Eagles defense that ranks second in the NFL in points off turnovers. Questlove and Bradley Cooper, wearing an Allen Iverson T-shirt, were also at the game. The Eagles had converted 8 of 12 fourth-down attempts coming into the game and kept the gambles rolling on their first scoring drive. She also chatted with 76ers center Joel Embiid and was at midfield for the coin toss. The Eagles converted three third downs and Hurts hit DeVonta Smith for a 7-yard touchdown. First lady Jill Biden attended the game as part of cancer awareness night. Hurts converted two of the third downs on rushing attempts and Philly needed the clutch runs after the Cowboys (4-2) powered their way back into the game. “Read your keys and go get the ball,” Gardner-Johnson said. In fact, it’s been a point of emphasis for Bowles since he got the job in April, because he thought the team was worn out last January and didn’t want that to happen again. And I think this week, with teams sniffing around the Panthers, we might start to see a little uptick in activity. He’s at a different point in his life and he doesn't put the pressure on himself that he used to. The more interesting element of it is what it means for Hollywood Brown, who’s likely now out for the year. It was a weird start to his career, and he had some good years and he had some good games and then he had a lot of change and, ironically, there's a lot of things that I saw in Ryan [Tannehill], when we got Ryan from Miami that I kind of saw in Marcus. “I think he wouldn't be playing as well as he is if he hadn’t gone through those experiences in Tennessee at the end, and then sitting behind Derek Carr. And the things we can control is we can play better. And one thing Love was explicit on was the raw amount of things Martindale allows for his players to do: Love said he’d never been used as a blitzer before this year but loves doing it now. [Quinnen Williams](https://www.si.com/nfl/player/quinnen-williams), who was an absolute force in the team’s upset of the Packers at Lambeau. He bet that Greg Roman would eventually tire of running the ball, and was ready for that by continually changing coverage picture on Lamar Jackson as the game went on. Once Sanders was eventually stoned for no gain, the Eagles opened it up to throwing for a 22-yard catch-and-run to AJ Brown before going tempo to catch the Dallas defense with a seven-yard touchdown to DeVonta Smith. Maybe most impressive to me, though, is what I mentioned in the morning column: how they leaned on their run game to close the Cowboys out.

Cooper Rush threw three interceptions and the Eagles ended the Cowboys' four-game winning streak Sunday in Philadelphia.
Dallas fought back to pull within 20-17 early in the fourth quarter. Dallas didn’t excel in any of those areas Sunday night, falling to the [Eagles](https://theathletic.com/nfl/team/eagles/), the NFL’s only remaining undefeated team, 26-17 at Lincoln Financial Field.

But special teams coordinator Michael Clay’s units need to improve if the Eagles are to contend for a championship. And then finally, when the Eagles needed Siposs to back the Cowboys up, he appeared to shank a punt off the side of his foot for 30 yards. It has yet to happen, but the Eagles’ special teams units are getting closer to being the cause for a loss. The ball was coming out quickly to offset the rush and the Eagles were held without a sack and hit Rush only four times. But a unit with a more efficient quarterback is more likely to take advantage of the Eagles being susceptible on the ground. And defensive end Brandon Graham hurried the throw on the last that found the hands of a diving Gardner-Johnson, who has three interceptions in his last two games. But three of the NFC’s four winning teams are from the East and the Eagles have just a one-game margin over the surprising Giants. But the Cowboys adjusted at the half, got the ball out of Rush’s hands faster, and took advantage of the deeper zones Gannon has typically employed when ahead. When Johnson has been in the lineup in his 10 seasons, the Eagles are 65-42-1 (.605 winning percentage), and when he is not they are 12-20 (.375). While the 5-1 Bills are slightly ahead at 71% in the AFC, it’s remarkable that with just 35% of the season in the books, the Eagles have positioned themselves ahead of the rest of the NFC. But the Eagles control their own destiny with victories against two of their nearest competitors: the 5-1 Vikings and Dallas. The Eagles remained unbeaten with a 26-17 win over the Cowboys that followed a similar arc to previous games: They jump out to a large lead only to hold on for dear life.

They are 6-0 at the bye week, but they had to sweat out some of those wins. "We want to be able to end a game and put it away,” the coach says.
“[Monday morning] was all about the game review, Monday night is all about our coaches doing their self-scout projects and other projects I gave them. After this weekend, the team will reconvene with its sights set on its next game: Oct. The Eagles met with players on Monday before allowing them to go their separate ways. “There’s no doubt we’ve had good first halves, and the second halves — whatever it is, we haven’t played a complete game in the sense that we haven’t really blown open a game when we’ve had two-score leads. Each game has offered a different story, with the team proving it can win in a multitude of ways. However, this season, the Eagles are benefiting from their scheduled time off in mid-October.
