Deontay Wilder Vs. Robert Helenius: Odds, Records, Prediction (Forbes)

Robert Helenius has bounced back from the low point of his career. Can Deontay Wilder do the same?

Say, Wilder by KO in the fifth round. Here’s more info on the Deontay Wilder vs. Instead, you could take Wilder to win by KO at -450 (although it doesn’t provide much value, it’s probably the safest bet on the fight), or you could take him to win by KO in rounds 1-6 at -138 (I actually like that play the best). It all comes down to how much confidence Wilder has in himself. But Wilder still has two nice KO victories against Luis Ortiz and a first-round destruction of Dominic Breazeale. While Wilder is a healthy betting favorite vs. None of those boxers are bad; but, with the exception of Whyte, they’re not nearly elite-level competitors (and Washington and Duhaupas also suffered knockouts vs. [the -800 favorite](https://www.nj.bet365.com/?_h=4r18ya75g2O4nRgTA2UqVg%3D%3D#/AC/B9/C1/D8/E15040154/F8/G124264321/H4/) (bet $800 to win $100), while Helenius is the +500 underdog (earn $500 on a $100 wager). After [his second loss to Fury](https://www.forbes.com/sites/joshkatzowitz/2021/10/07/tyson-fury-vs-deontay-wilder-iii-predictions-and-odds-fighters-make-their-picks/?sh=1c83793666ea), also by devastating knockout, Wilder mostly disappeared from the spotlight. [his first loss to Fury](https://www.forbes.com/sites/brianmazique/2020/02/23/tyson-fury-vs-deontay-wilder-2-results-winner-ko-highlights-video-and-twitter-reaction/?sh=625439792b2a), Wilder made a litany of excuses for why he had been knocked out (the two men had a draw in their first fight). It seems hard to believe, but Wilder hasn’t scored a victory in nearly three years. “I tell people that I only have three years left that I want to dedicate to this business.

“It’s why I take my training and conditioning with Deontay very seriously. At one time, Fort Worth was nicknamed, “Murder Worth,” and was one of the murder capitals of the United States. “When I started out, I wanted to be the best. With Deontay, I have his life in my hands. He’s in tuned to his mind, body and soul.” I have their careers in my hands. When Deontay started out, he wanted to be best. I believe I’m the best strength-and-conditioning coach in basketball, track and boxing. Deontay is a Hall of Famer and he still has more to do.” Scott, from the hardcore Stop Six section of Fort Worth, is the second of four boys. When Joey Scott, 44, first met Deontay Wilder he was a tall, skinny kid sitting on a ring apron in Jay Deas’ Skyy Boxing Gym in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In watching Fundora vs Ocampo, I felt (my opinion) that there was a bit of the unwritten contract going on that Fundora was willing to go to the distance. So during the fight, his EQ, and especially his fighter’s ego could be difficult to control, he will not only want to win, but he will want to do it in devasting fashion. I write in about what I think could be a factor in the mega fight Crawford vs Spence, it’s the fact that it will be the first fight for Crawford as a free agent. The second point that make me think it can have a negative impact, is that he will be ultra implicated in this fight and he will want to prove all doubters wrong. It could be positive, because Crawford like to have the control and with this he can control what will happen inside the ring but also the modalities of the fight. We all make mistakes but I have to live with that for the rest of my life. Do you agree with the comments from the time that Jofre was the best fighter in the world? I saw the thread about the Fighter of the Decade of the 1980s. I read 2 SI articles where he is mentioned as the best in the world. That is the fight I am excited about and I think if the fight earlier there could be a chance for a trilogy. It’s the fighter who has the combination of the best and biggest wins who’s also the best fighter for the most part. I know who the Fighter of the 1980s was.

Former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder marked his much-anticipated return to the ring with a thunderous knockout punch that stopped Robert Helenius in ...

In the closing seconds of the first round, Helenius tried to land a combination on Wilder from a distance. Anthony Joshua, another former champion who lost his belts to Usyk, was someone Wilder mentioned during the prefight buildup, but he didn't reference Joshua after dropping Helenius. Leading up to the bout, Wilder stated he intended to fight until 2025, when he turns 40 years old. "I allowed him to reach," Wilder told Fox. "Deontay Wilder is back," he said in his postfight interview on Fox. Fury then proceeded to win the next two fights by knockout, including their bout last year that featured five knockdowns between them and was considered by many as the fight of the year.

The Wilder vs. 9:21 p.m.: We're off to a late start for the PPV portion of the card as the undercards ran slightly over. Referee Benji Esteves didn't signal for an end to the round and allowed Russell to get to the stool without the bell sounding. Emmanuel Rodriguez clobbered Russell with a straight right hand that sent him to the canvas with a second left in the eighth round. Result: We go to the scorecards and Rodriguez earns a unanimous decision with scores of 100-90, 99-91 & 99-93. 11:07 p.m.: A right hand put Negron down in the 9th round with a hard right hand that sent him down between the ropes. Don't expect this one to go the distance. 12:18 a.m.: Helenius enters the ring and Wilder follows by walking out to his song "Everytime." 11:31 p.m.: After three rounds, Plant is proving to be the better boxer by landing the right hand, popping the jab and avoiding Dirrell's power shots. Wilder with a combination and Helenius shoves him into the ropes. Right hand from Wilder & Helenius is dead. Although Wilder came up short against Fury, the power remains undeniable and he is easily one of the most devastating punchers in heavyweight history.

Deontay Wilder knocked out Robert Helenius in the first round on Saturday night, punching his way back into the win column after consecutive losses.

The fight featured plenty of holding and wrestling and occasional lengthy stretches with little punching, bringing down boos in Brooklyn. Plant lost his belt in his previous fight when he was stopped by undisputed champion Canelo Álvarez. “I allowed him to reach and when he reached, I attacked. It made no difference in his fist. He knew it was over, posing against the ropes even before the fight had been stopped. Other names that will be mentioned include former champions Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr.
