In January 2015, Hoppus and Barker announced that DeLonge had left the band. The band achieved international stardom with its subsequent album, 1999’s “Enema of the State,” which featured “All the Small Things,” “What’s My Age Again?” and other songs that quickly became fan favorites. The band will also perform two other California dates: June 22 at San Jose’s SAP Center and June 23 at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center. A new song arrives Friday as the classic lineup of DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, and Travis Barker reconvenes for the first time since 2015.

The band toured consistently in the late 2010s, too, and was booked to perform at the famously doomed Fyre Festival. DeLonge focused on his band Angels & Airwaves, which released their debut album in 2006, while Barker became a prolific session drummer, particularly in the worlds of pop-punk and hip-hop. Barker called DeLonge “disrespectful and ungrateful” to have his manager break the news and not call them himself. In 2002, DeLonge and Barker released a side project as a duo, a self-titled Box Car Racer album.
