What is open on Thanksgiving

With Thanksgiving a day geared toward families, many businesses in Windsor-Essex will be closed so employees can be home with them.

In the Town of Tecumseh, there will be no transit service on Thanksgiving. There will be no parking enforcement in Windsor on Monday. The public drop-off centre at Central and EC Row in Windsor will be closed on Thanksgiving. Recycling and yard waste collection, however, will proceed on a normal schedule. All indoor recreation facilities in the City of Windsor will be closed Monday with the exception of those hosting pre-booked rentals and the H-4 program at Windsor Water World, which will operate during its normal hours, from 8:30 a.m. Transit Windsor buses will operate on a Sunday-holiday schedule Monday. Parking garages and lots, however, will be paid as usual. Devonshire Mall and Tecumseh Mall in Windsor are both closed on Monday. Windsor Crossing outlet mall in LaSalle will be open from 10 a.m. All classes will resume on Tuesday. There will be no Canada Post delivery. If you have no plans for Thanksgiving dinner and want to go out to eat, bear in mind that many restaurants will be closed or on shortened hours Monday.
