James Hamblin keeps pushing for spot on Edmonton Oilers' roster (Globalnews.ca)

It's easy to label James Hamblin as an underdog to play in the NHL. He wasn't drafted, and he stands only five-foot-nine.

“I set a goal of trying to make the team out of camp. The Oilers signed Hamblin to a two-year deal in the off-season. The actual game is at 7 p.m. “Nothing is really new to me. “When he first came in during the pandemic year, I didn’t know much about him,” Woodcroft recalled. He was someone who stood out on a day-by-day basis — kept getting better.

Edmonton Police Service moves 62 officers to front-line patrol (Globalnews.ca)

There will be service implications because of the changes, EPS said, 'some of which will be noticeable to the general public.'

“There will obviously, like anything else, be people who say we shouldn’t shut this down or we shouldn’t shut that down,” McFee added. “What we needed to do in relation to that is increase our numbers on patrol. “It’s a deterrent.” These changes will free up additional constables to support the patrol shift, EPS said. But it’s also factoring in getting more patrol cars as visible as possible in the areas.” McFee previously said that would immediately free up about three officers, with another 10-12 officers potentially being freed up in the near future.
