Lewis Cine was just starting to get some snaps in the Vikings' secondary, but it now appears his rookie season might be over less than four games in.

Cine immediately went down grabbing his left leg, and was in immense pain. Cine had to be carted off the field in London during the first quarter as the Vikings are facing the New Orleans Saints at Tottenham Hotspur. He was immediately ruled out for the game, and the NFL Network broadcast reported Cine was taken to a London hospital for further evaluation.

After a completion for no gain, they didn't use a timeout, had an incompletion and then a false start penalty. The Vikings led 13-7 and had first-and-goal on the 3 after Justin Jefferson's 41-yard reception in the third quarter, but were pushed back by a delay of game penalty. [Chris Olave](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/chris-olave/84355)remains a must-start, while [Jarvis Landry](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/jarvis-landry/8698)would have likely had a better game if healthy. [Ben Ellefson](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/ben-ellefson/27766)has also been used extensively as the third tight end, particularly in 21 and 22 personnel. [Jarvis Landry](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/jarvis-landry/8698), [Tre’Quan Smith](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/trequan-smith/48228)and [Deonte Harty](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/deonte-harty/91470)were all limited in practice at various points throughout the week, so none of them were in the best position to see an increased workload. [Latavius Murray](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/latavius-murray/7962)was the backup running back, giving New Orleans the oldest and second-oldest running backs to take an offensive snap this season. The Vikings limited his playing time accordingly. [Marquez Callaway](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/marquez-callaway/42295)was the biggest beneficiary in terms of playing time. Greg Joseph was the matchwinner with five field goals and 16 points as Minnesota Vikings edged past New Orleans Saints 28-25 in London.

Neither team showed the razzle-dazzle of a Super Bowl contender but the International Series comes to London for a good time not the grit and grind of playoff football and long may it continue. Latavius Murray and Taysom Hill notched goalline rushing touchdowns to give the Saints hope of an unlikely win from smooth Dalton drives downfield and alarmingly for Minnesota they could only answer through the boot of Joseph. Dalton capitalised on the favourable field position and made it count by levelling the score with a four-yard pass to Chris Olave as nine minutes remained in the half.

The Vikings led 13-7 and had first-and-goal on the 3 after Jefferson's 41-yard reception in the third quarter, but were pushed back by a delay of game penalty. Tight end Johnny Mundt dropped a short pass on a third-and-1 from the 10 and Minnesota opted for a field goal. This was the fifth NFL game at Tottenham, the Premier League club's stadium that cost more than $1 billion to build and opened in 2019. Joseph's 36-yard field goal gave the Vikings a 13-7 lead going into halftime. “I was telling (O'Connell) the whole game we should throw it up, give me a chance to go up and make a big play." The Vikings beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-27 in 2013 at Wembley Stadium and topped the Cleveland Browns 33-16 four years later at Twickenham Stadium. “I hit them both on the screws. Many of the Vikings (3-1), though, thought they were headed to overtime when Saints kicker Wil Lutz lined up for his 61-yard tying attempt. Down 16-7, Saints backup quarterback Andy Dalton led two scoring drives to help New Orleans take 22-19 lead. “When it left his foot I thought it was going in,” Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell said. Lutz had hit a 60-yarder on their previous possession. “I thought they were both in,” Lutz said.

Vikings wide receiver Jefferson walked in for a three-yard touchdown to once again give Minnesota the lead. And, from 47-yards, Joseph remained perfect to give the Vikings the lead with just 24 seconds left. But Minnesota once again had to settle for a field goal, with star wide receiver dropping what would have been a touchdown. From the opening kick, the nominal away team – the Vikings – looked a well-oiled machine. But our defense kept getting us the ball back via turnovers and special teams were huge, all kinds of different plays – and we got a win. Often London fans haven’t been treated to the closest encounters.

The Vikings lined up in a punt formation, but caught the Saints off guard with their fake-punt-turned-pass. Punter Ryan Wright, a former high school quarterback, completed a 13-yard pass to Adam Thielen for the first down, keeping the Vikings drive alive. The Saints have the most three-and-outs of any team in the league and with their starting quarterback out and Alvin Kamara as a late scratch, they had more obstacles to overcome. Minnesota then forced another turnover on the Saints return, but once again could only get a field goal on the fumble. The Vikings regained the lead after a 28-yard field goal by Joseph with just over a minute left in the half. The Vikings made a statement early, coming out and scoring a touchdown on their first drive.

The Vikings defeated the Saints 28-25. The Vikings have a really good run-blocking offensive line and a stable of talented running backs. Over the first three weeks, the Vikings’ defense has shown struggles but hadn’t allowed a point in the fourth quarter this season. 7 takeaways from Week 4 Saints loss vs. Vikings (Saints Wire)

NFL fans across the pond in London, England were treated to a great game on Sunday between the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings.

That’s a treacherous stretch to walk into a 1-4 with a loss to one of the league’s most questionable rosters. It wouldn’t be the first time the Saints have gotten a look at an alternative option when they feel they need more from a position. By the time the Saints offense was clicking a bit more in the fourth quarter, the defense looked tired. So keeping focus is the right thing for the team, but things will have to shape up quickly to avoid further complications with a challenging stretch on the horizon. Whether its a stammering offense, inefficient play on special teams or key explosive plays given up on defense, the Saints are struggling to piece it all together. But New Orleans still has a lot to prove after a disappointing start of the season so far. We saw the New Orleans defense respond well when their offense stayed on the field and led longer drives, if the team wants to win more games this season, this will be a necessity. That’s a 12-point swing forced by Demario Davis and the Saints defensive unit. In a game in which the Saints finally got some rushing attempts going in the fourth quarter, Murray was their best option. Murray was stood up at the goal line, but fought through the defenders and stretched out to break the plane. He doesn’t seem to be slowing down, but a late ankle injury may be something to watch throughout the practice week. However, Saints fans were displeased after the team dropped its third-straight game and fell to 1-3 on the season.

Their defence also started strongly and forced the Saints to punt twice, the second of which ended with Cine’s awful injury.
