Ottawa police tweeted at noon Saturday that they had "assisted the Ottawa Paramedic Service and issued over 20 provincial offence notices for open alcohol."

The Ottawa Police Service had said they would ramp up their presence at the game, attempting to keep the festivities from turning into chaos. Late Saturday afternoon, after the game, the city's bylaw department said it had issued 11 tickets for excessive noise and one for littering during the celebrations. Bylaw officers had also "issued a $1,000 ticket for excessive noise on Chapel Street," police said in the pre-game tweet.

“You can’t get too high up. You can’t go too down. “It’s good for us, but you’ve got to stay 10 toes down,” Cimankinda said. It’s not just about football. They executed better than us, and, you know, things just got out of hand at the end there.” It’s really special.” That’s something we talk about quite a bit.” The coaches give such good tips and you get to the game, and it’s just like another practice.” Amid all the bedlam, he had a tough time finding family and friends. “But, when the ball is in your hands and the crowd erupts, it’s just so special. Update: Law enforcement bulks up in Sandy Hill, but crowd still ... (Ottawa Citizen)

A large police presence awaited those returning from the uOttawa-Carleton football game, intent on preventing a repeat of 2021 disturbances.

Police tweeted that another arrest had been made for public intoxication and resisting arrest. “I just got hit.” “This is f—ed,” one person said. At least two people had been arrested, based on police tweets, including one for mischief. One young man sat on the road with his hands behind him in cuffs. By 9 p.m., the streets and sidewalks in parts of Sandy Hill were teeming with students. “I thought that last year the police might’ve helped exacerbate the situation by trying to cram everybody into one area. And we don’t want to antagonize anyone.” “But there’s really nothing else we can do. “I had eggs thrown at me and people screaming in my face. “My partner and I were outside for seven hours last year,” Meagan LaRose recalled. Many noted the increased police presence over last year’s force, with numerous Ontario Provincial Police officers augmenting uniformed Ottawa Police Service counterparts in the area.

The Carleton Ravens lost its fourth consecutive Panda Game 37-7 against the uOttawa Gee-Gees in front of a sold out crowd at TD Place on Oct.1.

After two field goals from Gee-Gees’ kicker Campbell Fair, Cimankinda added two touchdown runs late in the fourth quarter for the Gee-Gees to seal the victory. The Ravens’ secondary struggled in the second half and when they got a stop, their offence couldn’t capitalize. The Gee-Gees’ offence had a smooth start to the third quarter. The Gee-Gees added a 21-yard field goal to take a 10-7 lead later on in the half. The Ravens offence will look to get things going in the third-quarter after a frustating first-half. The team then blocked and recovered a 25-yard field goal from the Gee-Gees just before halftime.
