At 7:39 a.m., police were called to the scene of Eglinton Ave. and Erin Mills Pkwy., where the hospital is located, for what was first described as an “isolated incident that is contained.” Crisis negotiators are present at the scene.

There is a heavy police presence in Mississauga Friday morning as Peel Regional Police say they are currently dealing with “a barricaded person.”

“At this time as a measure of safety, the surface parking area is closed off and patients, visitors and staff will not be able to enter or leave until the scene is clear. Police asked the public to avoid the area. The incident is “isolated” and “contained,” police said.
