The NFL has seen an influx of receiver talent in recent seasons while several of the league's best players at the position have changed places.
Both have excellent releases at the line of scrimmage — Adams' is arguably the best in the NFL — so corners covering them have to be sharp at the line and coming out of their breaks. He once led the NFL in yards per reception when he averaged 20.4 during the 2019 season and has averaged 16 yards per catch for his career. It seems like he is on pace for a great career and is one of the most dangerous pass-catching weapons in the league. That made him a favorite target of Derek Carr during the Clemson product's first three years with the Raiders; specifically, he was a third-down conversion machine and always seems to get looks from Carr in those situations. However, he started to take a back seat to Stefon Diggs in 2019 and became the team's No. He has broken the 1,000-yard mark as a receiver in each of his first eight seasons, an NFL record, and has recorded 12-plus touchdowns four times. He burst onto the scene as a rookie and combined to record 3,016 receiving yards in his first two seasons. Still, they are a strong tandem, and one could make a case that Evans has long been one of the NFL's most underrated pass-catchers. As a result, he has averaged 18 yards per catch, which ranks seventh in the NFL overall and is 8.2 yards per catch better than his mark of 9.8 from last season. The Alabama product and 2020 Heisman winner set the Eagles' rookie record for receiving yards in 2021, but this year, he is on pace to do even better. He averages just 2.1 yards of separation — tied for the 12th-lowest mark among qualified NFL players per Next Gen stats — but still has managed 13 catches for 191 yards and a touchdown in 2022. His speed has helped Miami stretch the field vertically and he has become a top-tier target to help open up more space for Waddle.
WR/DB matchup lost in the shuffle of Tua Tagovailoa/Joe Burrow showdown.
This game should be entertaining, with two of the best QB-WR duos in the NFL facing off in Tua-Hill vs. In the first two games against the Steelers and Cowboys, Burrow was sacked 13 times — seven times against Pittsburgh and six against Dallas. The team/Tua is second in passing yards with 925 and tied for third in TD receptions. Of course, the semi-main event is the QB matchup between Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa. The gap between the two is getting smaller. Last week Burrow was sacked only two times, and they won the game. They’re tied for the league lead in 40+ yard receptions with five. [shocked](https://deadspin.com/joe-burrow-s-magic-might-not-be-enough-to-save-the-ci-1849553969) the league and took that momentum all the way to the Super Bowl. Burrow was the No. Typically, in a matchup where both teams feature quarterbacks that were both taken in the same draft, that’s where all the attention is directed. These two have been talking smack since last season when the Bengals beat the Kansas City Chiefs twice within a few weeks. Last year the Cincinnati Bengals

"I don't know if Eli got him tickets to the Super Bowl last year or not," he said. He's rebranded on Twitter, mostly tweeting about the Bengals as a unit and doing jersey giveaways when possible. Apple and Hill clearly don't exactly get along. Apple, of course, was part of a pivotal play in the championship game, as the Bengals stacked up Hill on 1-yard line heading into the half. The Bengals have a lot of familiar faces from last year, but none will be more familiar than cornerback Eli Apple. Now with Miami, Hill enters Cincinnati as part of one of the two last undefeated teams in the league squaring off against the defending AFC champs.

Hill might still feel he has some beef left with Apple after an incomplete night against the corner. Hill was matched up with a number of different players throughout the game, catching two passes each against Flowers and linebacker Germaine Pratt. The Dolphins changed quarterbacks during the game as starter Tua Tagovailoa was injured in the second quarter, with what coach Mike McDaniel later said was a concussion, but Hill maintained his connection with backup Teddy Bridgewater.
