'Fire Emblem Engage' is an ambitious new entry in the long-running strategy series, letting you summon heroes of past Fire Emblem games for help.
Interestingly, we also see that past Fire Emblem characters, like Marth, will inhabit the hub and can be talked to. The figures we see in the painting are all heroes from past Fire Emblem games, giving us a hint at some of the iconic figures that’ll be featured in Fire Emblem Engage. While combat looks pretty standard, the biggest new feature seems to be the “Emblem Rings” system that lets characters fuse with past Fire Emblem heroes. As the reveal trailer shows, there’s also going to be a bunch of original characters that join you in combat, on top of being able to link with past heroes. Surprisingly, Nintendo announced a release date right when it revealed the game: Fire Emblem Engage will launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023. The best part of the Divine Edition for most fans will likely be the included art book. One of the more unique parts of the Divine Edition is its set of art cards. The initial Divine Edition reveal didn’t specify how many cards are in the pack, but there will likely be one for each hero. Also included in the Divine Edition is a large poster featuring a piece of the game’s key art, which can also be seen on the oversized box that the entire package comes in. Each card features art of a single hero from one of the series’ previous games, each of whom presumably makes an appearance in Engage. As of this writing, the Divine Edition isn’t yet available for sale, but it’s likely that it will appear on the market soon.

The recent Nintendo Direct gave us a glimpse at the upcoming Fire Emblem Engage, the newest in the series for Nintendo Switch and it looks great.
From the looks of everything, Fire Emblem Engage plays like a traditional Fire Emblem with grid-based strategic battles. Your protagonist has a ring on their finger filled with mysterious energy (and their finger). A new Fire Emblem game titled Fire Emblem Engage!

So far, the internet and social media have drawn comparisons to the Pepsi logo and even toothpaste: Pikazo is also known for the character Sei Shounagon in the Fate/Grand Order mobile game releases, and the light novel series Apocalypse Witch. During the first look, players were introduced to the game's protagonist - a new character rocking a red and blue hairstyle.
Well, the leaks were real: "Toothpaste-Chan" is the protagonist of the newest mainline Fire Emblem game, 'Engage.'
And no, this is not your pass to hate on the artist themselves. Sometimes, a character is good, a story is good, and that’s that–there’s no reason to drag it out longer than it needs to be. But there’s more graceful ways to do that, like how in Breath of the Wild, Link can find the attire of past heroes. The story seems lame, the designs are lame…like many others, I was just really hoping for something new and unique, like what we got with Three Houses. There are positives, though: the graphics do look really nice, and they make me wish they’d used this animation style for Three Houses. The world of Fodlan was fascinating and original, and its characters only fleshed it out more. It’s the sort of hyper-anime design that can really turn a lot of people off, especially in a series that, while utilizing a basic anime aesthetic, isn’t really known to be a “moe moe kawaii-chan” series. What really gets me, though, is the fact that this game feels more like a spin-off of the mobile gacha game, Fire Emblem Heroes, than an actual mainline title. Haven’t we already gotten that with the first Fire Emblem: Warriors Title? And yes, the inclusion of And a few months ago, some “leaks” were shared in the subreddit, featuring a fantasy-looking anime girl whose hair was half-blue, half-red. So I ended up just following the meme page, shitpostemblem.
