Kennesaw State students are taking what they learn from faculty in the Robin and Doug Shore Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center and investment from the ...
“Our entrepreneurship center offers a place for students from all majors to develop their ideas while receiving support from faculty experts and even funding of student projects,” Quinet said. With 11 colleges on two metro Atlanta campuses, Kennesaw State is a member of the University System of Georgia. “The feedback and guidance I’ve received have helped me address unanticipated issues and give me sound advice for resources to use. Swales’ prototype is still in development, with a goal to have it installed on his own vehicle this fall. Creating that prototype has taken more than two years and is expected to cost around $100,000, and Swales said he’s already put about $30,000 of his own money into the work. Feeser says the support from KSU’s entrepreneurship center and the Mookerji fund made that possible. In his opinion, soft tops let in too much outside noise, while hard tops take too much time to put on and take off. “The Mookerji grant went to software licenses and paychecks. “The Entrepreneurial Mind course changed my path from solely a programmer to an entrepreneur,” Vitek said. “We were already playing with virtual reality while we were in school, so it seemed like a natural fit,” Feeser said. The businesses started by students and alums so far have ranged from cutting-edge technology to consumer product development. “What’s exciting is that these ideas are not just coming from our business and entrepreneurship students.”
The company intends to complete an updated economic study in the near future and to develop an exploration path.
In 2016, First Mining completed a business combination transaction with Clifton Star to acquire the Duquesne gold project (100% owned) and an interest in the Duparquet project, both located on the Destor-Porcupine fault. In the mid-1930s, Beattie Gold Mines was the largest gold producer in Quebec. Resource estimates were also included in the preliminary economic assessment and a prefeasibility study. First Mining Gold (TSX: FF) has released a new resource estimate for the Duparquet gold project located in the Abitibi region of Quebec. The Duparquet project consists of four contiguous mineral exploration properties: Beattie, Donchester, Central Duparquet, Dumico, and the tailings from the former Beattie mine. “Its above average M+I open pit grade of 1.52 g/t gold provides excellent mining flexibility and along with its size and location, make it a very versatile deposit amenable to different potential mining scenarios with good future growth potential.”
