Rumbleverse slams onto the scene with melee mayhem (VentureBeat)

Rumbleverse, the new game from Iron Galaxy, is a unique take on the battle royale. You see, Rumbleverse is a melee brawler royale.

And then once you have the hang of the game, if you want some more advanced lessons, you can go to the playground and read some of those things to see if you missed anything. A lot of the moves in the game launch an opponent in a way that you can’t combo from, but a teammate could. We want to tell you how the news matters to you -- not just as a decision-maker at a game studio, but also as a fan of games. Heart: Exactly. If you are getting attacked on a roof and I come to rescue you, I might hit you off the roof on accident. But if you upgrade to the premium version of it, you’ll get a reward every single step of the way on the battle pass. You can equip those to do a lot more damage or have a lot more utility. There’s nothing you can do to speed up data going from you to the server and back. If you survive a long time, get KOs, and win a match, lots of fame will come your way, and that will progress you through the leagues system. The pace of the match, the amount of encounters you had, the amount of people in the city, your ability to recognize a player who you have had encounters with later in the match. So, instead of having one favorite spot that you always go to or one route that you always run the game has a heavy emphasis on improvisation. And you can fully explore the city at your own pace and really get to know it, which is awesome. We weren’t exactly sure what that number was going to be from the offset, but as we prototyped the game, we found that there were a lot of advantages to having this group of 40.

Rumbleverse Tips For Beginners (GameSpot)

Rumbleverse combines the open world and last-player-standing elements of a battle royale with a the combat mechanics of a brawler or fighter.

You may be familiar with WWE's annual Money In The Bank pay-per-view, which gives the winner of the headlining match the right to instigate a championship match at any time of their choosing. If your health is fully depleted while your Super Meter is active, you'll benefit from a Comeback, which slowly regenerates your health and allows you to keep fighting. There's plenty of loot on the rooftops, so staying on top of them for a good while is a totally valid way to stay out of trouble while you gather a formidable inventory of buffs, wrestling moves, and perhaps a steel chair. You can view these tutorials on the game's map screen, and then head to any or all of them to learn something new. Each move will be assigned to a left or right bumper on your controller, and you can stash more moves in your inventory as desired. You could have 10 health buffs and have a massive HP pool, you could exclusively improve stamina and never relent when wrestling an opponent, or you could find another way to divide up those slots. It'll take a moment longer, but if you've got the time to spare, it's well worth it. These moves are on quick cooldowns but otherwise don't have limitations, so it's a good idea to practice with each of them so you know what they do before you come across an opponent. This includes spare protein powders that build up your legs, arms, or core, chicken to restore your health, and additional wrestling moves that you can equip on demand. Just note that performing moves and climbing structures depletes your stamina, so be sure to manage it well in a rumble. It also means there's a skill floor you'll want to at least meet if you're going to outlast the competition in any 40-wrestler match. Our first impression of Rumbleverse was a feeling of being inundated with on-screen stuff to learn.

Rumbleverse tips: A beginner's guide to winning any fight (Rock Paper Shotgun)

Use this beginner's guide to Rumbleverse to learn about combat, skills, power-ups, movement, and more in Iron Galaxy's wrestling battle royale game.

This combo knocks the enemy up into the air behind you, and the amount of time the enemy spends in the air coupled with their recovery time on the floor gives you a lot of time to run away, heal, or pick up a new item before they get back to their feet. If you see floating leaves emanating from a bush or the leaves of a tree, that means there's a player hiding inside it. If you stay close to them, you can bait them into getting up with an AOE spin - but if you're expecting it and dodge through their spin, then they're already caught off-guard for your next attack. While in Superstar Mode, land a Vicious attack to start a Super Attack, where you'll send your opponent flying into the air before leaping up and slamming them back into the ground, often dealing upwards of 1000 damage. It deals a nice chunk of damage, and more importantly it knocks them off their feet, allowing you time to run or close the distance and capitalise on your attack. If you were to jump off a skyscraper and slam into an opponent on street level, the damage will be much higher than if you had jumped off a one-storey building. A quick but useful tip: if you hold block, you'll regain your stamina much more quickly than the default rate. There's a lot to learn about Rumbleverse's combat system, and the best way to get to grips with it is to spend some time in Playground Mode when you first load up the game. With most moves in Rumbleverse, the longer you or your opponent spend in the air, the more damage they will be dealt. If two players hit each other at the same time with the same type of attack, then they'll clash and knock each other backwards. You have two skill slots, and you can learn a new skill by reading a magazine. Plenty of rooftops across the map have more than one crate, so aim for one of those and then use the high ground to scout for more crates.

Rumbleverse Beginner's Tips: Stats, Ring, Attacks, Wake-Up & More (Cultured Vultures)

Rumbleverse isn't like most other battle royale games, so with that in mind, we've assembled some beginner tips to help players succeed.

The move has an inherent ability where it deals more damage across a wider range if you use it from a higher distance, meaning hitting an elbow drop off a skyscraper is going to have more of an impact than just jumping at ground level. Being knocked onto the ground might sound like the worst place to be in Rumbleverse, but as mentioned, it’s hard to deal follow-up damage on a grounded enemy, meaning you have a chance to breathe while lying down. Dodging while downed is a great way to manage distance, either by putting some between you and your opponent, or by rushing them down for a devastating surprise attack. When successfully hit, most attacks and combos in Rumbleverse will cause the opponent to be in a hard knockdown state, meaning it’s almost impossible to deal any more damage until they stand on their own two feet. It will recover, but you can’t just keep dipping in and out of the ring in order to survive. As soon as they’ve hit the ground, it’s back to elbow drops or resetting to neutral, but those wall splats can be the difference between an elimination or an enemy comeback. This means that you’ll need to make on the fly decisions regarding whether or not you drink every stat boost you see immediately, or if you decide to hold out in order to get the build that’s perfect for you. In Rumbleverse, though, the ring acts a little bit differently than it does in other battle royale games, and it can be worth using that to your advantage. Running out of the ring and behind a building can sometimes be a great place to heal and catch your breath during a match, though it’s wise to use this strategy sparingly. Knowing that the outside of the ring doesn’t deal damage means it can be used as a solid hiding space during the mid portions of the match. Dodging can be performed both on the ground and in the air, so if you see an attack coming, be ready to dodge. Dodging is done by pressing both triggers together, and can be used to escape pretty much most moves if done properly, so long as you time it well.
