Daniel Evans defeated Taylor Fritz for the second time in as many weeks early Thursday evening, claiming a 7-6(5), 1-6, 7-5 win on Court 9. "The most important thing is to just to get a good sleep now," he said, looking ahead to his quarter-final against Jannik Sinner or Pablo Carreno Busta, "I finished last night very late. I came out today and spoke to my coach and we were thinking it was going to be a tough mental challenge today to come out here and be all there. "On Tour, sometimes it's your week," he said of his breakthrough. "I know what it's like to do an ankle," a subdued Draper said post-match.

STEFANOS TSITSIPAS suffered a shock defeat to British qualifier Jack Draper at the Montreal Masters on Wednesday.

But Tsitsipas eventually held serve and even broke back to level the match but Draper regained his advantage late on before serving out to take a one-set lead. In a surprise turn of events, Tsitsipas ended up hitting his shot out of the court and losing the point. Draper had seemingly given up on returning back with Tsitsipas having the entire court to win the point.

JACK DRAPER pulled off the biggest win of his career in defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Montreal Masters.

And Draper has admitted that it was only a few days ago that he was thinking of not even competing in the Masters 1000 event. But Draper managed to wrap things up in a closely-fought tiebreak, beating Tsitsipas in straight sets. The match ended up going late into the night in Montreal and a third set would have taken it long past midnight.

Draper clinched the biggest win of his career on Wednesday.

Unfortunately for Tsitsipas, his lead was short-lvied as Draper broke back in the fifth game and eventually forced a tie-break. After blowing an early break, Draper broke Tsitsipas again in the 11th game to open a 6-5 lead. Draper earned the first break of the match in the third game but Tsitsipas broke back in the sixth game to tie the set to three games apiece.
