The finishing sequence saw Neal hurt Luque with a straight left followed by nine consecutive uppercuts until another punch came looping in that crumbled the top 10 ranked welterweight. Neal landed some early lefts in the face of Luque’s kicking assault early in the third. Luque ripped a pair of left hooks to the body, prompting a failed shot. Luque landed a step-in elbow, prompting a successful takedown from Neal. Luque popped right back up into the clinch and landed another elbow. Neal tried to flurry and force the finish, but Luque cracked him back, so he backed off.

Neal pops Luque’s head back with a left straight. Huge takedown from Neal but Luque bounces right back up. Luque upping the pressure here but Neal stops the advance with a big leg kick and a left straight. A little separation leads to a nice combo from Neal. Now it’s Neal who is upping the pressure. Nice jab from Luque and another body kick. Big leg kick from Luque. Huge left hand from Neal wobbles Luque badly. Big low kick from Luque and Neal explodes with a couple of counter kicks. Against the cage Neal hammered home his advantage with no less that six uppercuts that battered Luque, and a final blow sent him crashing to the mat to end the fight. Luque again leapt forward with a knee that Neal slipped away from. Luque again opened up with some kicks to the body and Neal slipped away before he closed the range to exchange with a combination. Luque then fired off a combination but Neal answered with one of his own that hurt the Brazilian and backed him up. Luque kept pressing forward but Neal landed another combination that pushed him back.

He landed a straight left that wobbled Luque. Neal connected with another left that made Luque retreat. The referee saw enough and stopped the fight. Neal caught one and put Luque on his back but Luque immediately worked his way back to his feet. He quickly got back to his feet only to be staggered again in the final seconds of the frame. During an exchange, Neal landed a right hand that staggered Luque. Luque kept his hands up and recovered. Neal responded with a combination.
